I know what you're thinking, "We've talked about these before and they just don't work. We are too many and too far apart". Well, I have though of a cool idea and I'd like to see how it is received by the community. I think most of us would agree that having a community gathering would be pretty amazing, but the problem is setting a date and a location that everyone, or at least most of us, would be able to attend. I think I may have a solution for this and I call it, "Bungie.world/[location]".
The idea is that we could celebrate around the world without really having to travel far. We could have a celebration locally. For us in the U.S. it could be held in every state, possibly in the state capital, and those located outside the U.S. could use the same tactic so they don't have to travel here. This is where the, "[location]" part in the title comes in. For example, I live in California so our celebration would be named, "Bungie.world/california".
On paper this sounds like an organization nightmare but it could easily organized, if work together and use the tools provided for us that is. We could possibly use b.net to select a host for every location, someone who has the time and is willing to put in the effort to organize this. But what would we do? Well, anything really. It doesn't have to be at some big convention center, it could easily take place at the host's home or even a rec center where we could have LANs, food, and music. This would be the most difficult part of all of this but we could fundraise if we really wanted to do this.
I have also thought about a good date for all of this, we could celebrate this on Bungie Day. We could celebrate throughout the world all at once so that symbolically, Bungie has taken over the world for that one day.
I have come up with this idea on my own so cut me some slack, it's only an idea after all. I realize that this would be pretty difficult to organize but if we ever managed to pull this off it would be pretty great.

I remember having a barbecue with a few lads from Bnet. It was great. OT: Sounds awesome. But will your plan work? I'm having doubts about this already. [Edited on 10.01.2012 3:44 PM PDT]

There are quite a few people who live in the vicinity of me down here in Florida master race...

I like the idea, but we'd need to have Bungie behind us. I wouldn't mind hosting but there are a lot of great Bnet New Yorkers.

I only know of 2 fans in the Seattle/Bellevue area, with maybe others in driving distance.

Bungie's ultamate plan of world domination, finally taiking shape? I like it. It would be difficult. Fundraising, the location, somewhere in each capitol we could put everyone. But how many whould show up? We would need some organization, like different groups for each state event. Like, for example, Bungie.world[California] would be the group name for you. And one main group to help organize it all. That would be a good way to help orginaze this I think. We would have to be determained to get this done. But the next Bungie Day is enough time for planning I think. And a great choice of time. Great idea man. [Edited on 10.10.2012 6:40 PM PDT]

"Hi, I'm Chris Hanson with dateline..."

I'm not sure how many Bungie fans live in Wisconsin. I live 15 minutes away from Madison, so it would be convenient for me to go to this gathering. I'm down.

Bungie just needs a bigger booth at Pax.
