Fondest Halo Moment

Just felt like taking a moment to remenice about our favorite games. I think my fondest moment was in Halo 3 all of my friends list and I would get together and play a couple of rounds of a custom zombie game. Those used to last for hours, and we never got tired of them. What about you guys?

 •
Posted by: HaloTitan Back in December 2002, a group of friends and I were on Christmas break and had gotten together for LAN party. Oh how I miss LANs. We finished up our first few games of capture the flag on Battle Creek and Blood Gultch. After a short pizza break we started up what would be the longest Halo game we've ever played, even to this day. Sidewinder, no time limit, three caps to win. Both teams had very solid defense and the score was tied at two. Next cap would win but everyone was holding tough. We weren't coordinated enough to organize a strategic attack (considering the other team sitting right across from us could hear everything we said), so it was a massive free for all where people would get picked off one at a time as they attacked the flag. At one point, red team took the third and final flag and hopped in the ghost for an easy ride home. The entire living room was on fire with noise as everyone shouted in excitement. I was the only person near him and all I had was a sniper. He was in a ghost and I wasn't too sure of what kind of skills I had. Nevertheless I zoomed in and managed to put one shot through his face. It was the luckiest shot I've ever seen in my life (even though people do that on a regular basis these days). I returned the flag and the game lasted a few more hours. We ended up calling it a draw. The entire game was my fondest memory, but that single kill was the best I ever managed on Halo CE.
That sounds awesome! What was everyone like when you made that shot with the Sniper Rifle?

 • I fondly remember jacking 2 Anti Air Wraiths on the Storm with my friend, then we would get a checkpoint and wrestle with them. The goal was to push the other Wraith off the ledge, then we'd revert to last save and do it again! Also that part in Halo 2 where you come down the waterfall and assassinate the Jackal. I love the music at that part. Then there's the moment when you exit the tunnel on Two Betrayals. Oh there's just too many moments in general :P [Edited on 09.12.2012 1:31 AM PDT]

 • The first time playing Halo 1 back in 2002. Just in complete awe of it all, the gameplay, the story, the world. and Halo 2 BTB. Every single moment of it.

 • It was right after Halo CE came out, I was playing co-op at the part of the mission Halo where you have to activate the hard light bridge, and as the Elite Major turned the corner in the narrow access hallway, and I panicked and threw a sticky at him. He was stuck in the b*lls (or whatever elites have down there) and as it stuck he screamed at me and blew up. My friend and I started laughing so hard that we were killed by the same grunt that only had a plasma pistol. That, or when I played Halo CE and had to use a DDR pad as a controller because it was four player and we only had 3 controllers.

 • When I stuck my first banshee in 2002. We didn't have internet at the time, so I had no idea whether I was the first one to do it or not. :L Also when I survived taking a rocket to the face on Legendary in 2006. Still not entirely sure about that one. :|

 •
Posted by: HipiO7
Posted by: ninjakenzen Just about every Halo game except Halo Wars. Yes, that does includes Reach.
Wut I've had hilariously great times on Halo Wars playing the multiplayer.
I never was much of a RTS player. -Halo 1 had the best 'wow' factor. -Halo 2 the best campaign experience and multiplayer feel. -Halo 3 had the best multiplayer / overall community atmosphere -Halo-ODST was just fun to play in groups, despite the lag if not playing with locals. -Halo Reach - I had the best group [clan] ever, made the game 10x more bearable and fun. I can't really factor them into single moments, because I have a lot for each game. More so for Halo 3 and Reach though. [Probs cause more recent in memory]

 •
Posted by: Quantam Pretty much every Halo game, but none more than 2. Favorite moment was going through Delta Halo, the calm environment, casual but fun enemies, and the scenery, map glitching, especially in Coop. I have never felt so calm and satisfied in a first person shooter, which is rare today. Edit: HOW COULD I FORGET THE MUSIC! Peril, In Amber Clad, the most calm music I have ever heard.
This guy, felt everything i felt on that game. ITS SO AMAZING, listning to peril and moving through the old ruins... Feeling like no one can stop me, and suddenly a huge fleeet apear, amazing. Btw has anyone figured out what those ruins were ? Were it the humans on halo installations before the activation?

 • Beating a group of Bungie Employees (they had the flames, the armor, and the tag so I assume they were employees of some fashion, keep in mind this was long before they started giving that stuff out) in BTB on Standoff. Our team made a comeback of over 25 kills in the last minute and a half. Final score was close, 100 to 97.
