Halo 2 and ODST plothole?
So basically, at the end of metropolis, the carrier slips away and the ODSTs get EMPed. This happens straight after Master Chief has been fighting elites.
Now, immediately afterwards, Buck is fighting in the city, but encounters brutes in power armour. This means that Brutes were in New Mombasa during Outskirts and Metropolis but for some reason were NEVER encountered by the Chief. It also means that in the time Bucks pod was hurtling from thr sky, ALL the elites were killed by the brutes.
Am I missing something?

Immediately after Regret retreats, Brute reinforcements sent by Truth (could be Truth's fleet though I'm unsure) arrive and immediately pick up the engagement with the UNSC. This could be wrong but that's how i remember it if memory serves. -
