Future War Cult?

the FWC is supposed to be a new faction in bungies new project. well to me the name does not make sense. just think about it for a second Future War Cult. if it was a cult in present(being the time of bungies next game) time would they not be just called "War Cult"? would could this mean? am i making sense? could this mean time travel? just a thought. -blam!-. I really need to start reading OP dates before replying to threads. I thought "Future" stood for the fact that they believed the future only held war, not peace. So to vie for peace meant going extinct in the future. To survive the future meant to prepare for war in the future.

  • Maybe they are a cult who believe there will be a war in the future.

    • Your logic isn't quite making sense to me. The FWC name basically means that they are more.. advanced than their competitors, since these factions seem to have some intense rivalry.

    • Truth is that it's really just a bunch of people who worship this old movie about a guy escaping enslavement by going to the past.

The conduit f3 was made by the future war cult and it's a sort of laser cannon, guns that have been shown that don't have the fwc logo aren't laser weapons so it's futuristic for that time period. Or maybe it's called future war cult because it's no longer modern day.

      • Makes the most sense to me as a Cult of the War for the future and from the future. A Battle of anticipation group.

        • Hey I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but on the description page for the "FWC" T-Shirt the description reads:
Have you seen us wearing shirts like these? Drape yourself in an enigma from our future release.
Note the word future in the description. In other descriptions, like the ones for New Monarchy and Dead Orbit, clues are given to the name of the of the faction. Dead Orbit:
You can be a dead ringer for a Bungie employee. Decorate your chest with this mysterious crest and watch the questions fly.
New Monarchy:
For Bungie Day, we are giving you the shirts off our backs. Adorn yourself with a mysterious icon fit for a king .
Notice the words dead (for Dead Orbit) and king (for New Monarchy). These descriptions lead me to believe the word "future" definitely stands for the "F" in FWC.

        • I don't know what it means at all. However, I like the logo so I'm going to represent whatever the FWC is for now. With my avatar and t-shirt...that I still have to order...

        • I thought it would have been something like "Free World Colony". But the Future War Cult trademark does appear to have a lot of legitimacy to it. Unless Bungie was expecting us to look for new trademarks and those are just decoy names so that nothing is spilled just yet.

FWC could mean anything, but I do believe it will be something you can be a part of. For now I think this.

Or "Cult" is more of a "religion" type of word. Hopefully, soon we will understand it more clearly. But yea from what you are talking about it, time travel would make sense. • If memory serves, the reason we believe it is called Future War Cult is that a Bungie employee who was wearing that T-shirt at some Lan Party or something was asked what it stood for and he replied "Future War Cult". Whether that story is completely true, or whether they have changed what it stands for between now and then, has yet to be seen. It's not nearly as concrete as the rest of the faction names, which Bungie registered as Domain Names a while back.
