New poll at HFCS!
The moderators were recently discussing the possibilities of having the "Member" above our forum avatars changed to reflect our moderator status. I listed a few possibilities. Go over to [url=http://seventhcolumn.bungie.net/perlbin/blam.pl?file=/fanclub/10481]HFCS[/url] and vote! Or, if you have a better suggestion, post here. =)
Also, I want your guys' take on titles. I can't promise anything, but I would like to know if a title other than "member" would act as incentive for users to participate more in the community. What do you think?

l voted for "Minion of Achronos" and l think this whole idea is excellent!! This might be dumb, but members should be ranked as the covenant, like people who just joined would be ranked as a "grunt" and then gets promoted to "jackle". That would be good.

Speaking for myself, I only got a .Net account because I wanted a b.net account, so I could get the benefit of Bungie perks for Halo 2. Otherwise, I was glad and happy to lurk and if driven to comment, create an account that was easily lost. Achronos has made (elsewhere) a wonderful point. By making our b.net accounts something of value, those of us who take pride in how we present to others will act "civil". Because of that, I finally stopped lurking and decided it harms nothing (except some people's tolerance of bad jokes) and might actually help some of the "new to Bungie" members we have. I'd like to think that I try to approach the goal of the short-time account that Shishka described. But I think that some of my mod-teasing ruins that. BTW, Shishka? Your "bionic eye" might be overloading. The red glow now includes your eybrow and nose. You're not looking for another thankless job of pulling a sleigh are you?

[color=white]I like the idea of getting rewarded for doing good and being helpful on bungie.net. Here's an additional idea: Making the names given in place of "member" completely random, and perhaps referencing obtuse, hidden, or hard to find easter eggs in Bungie games. For example: "Hippo,"[/color] [color=yellow]"Y.B. (yellow banshee--which should, unless given randomly, go to Banshee Barron, of course),"[/color] [color=white]"Nipple Grunt," and so on. I realize those are not exactly obtuse or hard to find (anymore, for most of us) examples, but it might inspire new members to investigate games other than Halo 2. My 2 cents.[/color]

The idea of a title system sounds great to me. I think, perhaps, that it might not actually be as much of an incentive to post for some members as many people who have posted here may think. That is a good thing because we don't want people to start posting in every thread they see because they want a nifty title. Also, will the titles be custom for each person or will there be a set list of titles that wil be administered based on contributions to the forum? If they're custom, mine would definately be "Band Geek". After all, I play tenor saxophone in a marching band. -Baerdog7 P.S. Shishka's right. Rewarding spammers would only increase spam. Also, how exactly would the title syatem work? ( As in, what exactly would the qualifications be?) This might have already been answered.
