[Story] Spartan 104: The Black Abyss

It starts up after the first few parts, so don't let this one get you down. If you see any errors tell me. Il fix them as soon as i can. Spartan 104 sat at a table in the dining hall. He stood out among the crowd. Mostly because he was two meters tall. He pulled a combat knife out of his belt, and sliced his apple like lightning. The marines sitting with him stared at the perfectly cut fruit. One of the soldiers looked up at 104 and asked, " Uh...can you cut mine too sir.?" The Spartan looked down at the tiny ant, took his apple, and before the marine knew it he had even slices placed on his tray. 104 wasn't one for socializing. After all, he was a Spartan. He heard shouting behind him. He turned around to see two marines. It was obvious they were about to start throwing punches. The smaller marine, who seemed to be at a disadvantage to to the fact that his combatant was six feet tall, struck first. The punch landed on the large man's face. Blood from his nose flew into the air. They began pummeling each other. Right as the larger marine threw his prey on to the table, both of them felt themselves lifted into the air by the back of their fatigues. They tried to run at each other while hoisted up in the air. They continued throwing punches that fell short. They were nowhere near in range. Spartan 104 looked at the two marines he held up off the ground. They looked ridiculous. He almost laughed. He had cracked a smile, but it quickly disappeared. The whole dining hall was silent, watching the event in horror. The Spartan was huge. The soldier even made ODSTs nervous. Watching the Titan hold two men in the air was scaring the hell out of the crowd. It was natural to be afraid of something that could pop you like a water balloon. "You two want to fight?" 104 asked, "Then take it to the gym, jump in the ring, and go at it." The Spartan was not the least bit affected by the weight of the soldiers. He dropped both of them on to the ground. They failed to land on their feet. The larger marine scowled at 104, and walked away. 104 knew the two of them weren't going to fight without an audience. The Spartan walked out of the dining hall, and towards the elevator that would take him to the floor where his team's bunks were.

  • Part 10 104 took off his helmet and held Ensign Chervayl close to him. She cared for him, more than she should. She looked into the Spartan's eyes, and he stared back into her's. They were deep blue. Her dark brown hair lay in 104's arms. She was beautiful. "R-Rob" She stuttered. 104 nodded, "D-d-don't let me die" Chervayl said quietly. Her voice was quivering, and tears were forming in her eyes. " It's ok, I'm here." The Spartan replied. Chervayl wrapped her arms around his back, used all her remaining strength to pull herself close to 104, and kissed him on his lips. Both of their eyes closed. The two of them stayed perfectly still, neither wanted to part. He felt as though he was holding an angel. Chervayl was warm, her skin soft as silk. She released his lips after what had felt like an eternity. 104 turned the over shield of his torso off as he pulled her tight towards his chest, Chervayl relaxed, and became limp in 104's arms. Tears fell from her eyes and hit the floor. Chervayl took one last look at the man she could never have, and slipped away. Spartan 104 held the dead Ensign in his arms. He was shocked, he felt an emotion he had never encountered before. It was strong, and he could feel it burning in his chest. Blood was dripping from Chervayl's uniform down onto the floor. She had called him Rob, his name. Nobody ever called him Rob, but it made him feel human. He liked it, but now Chervayl was dead. There was nothing 104 could do about it. He felt anger, but smothered it. He knew it would render his tactical sense. He gently placed Chervayl on to the ground, and swore he would never get that close to anyone again.
