Email Verification and Beta Testing FAQ
Your friendly neighborhood moderators have whipped up a FAQ regarding the Bungie Beta Tester Sign-up. Please read the FAQ fully before posting any questions regarding email, sign up, or when and where testing will take place.

A: In your profile page under the "Edit Profile" tab you can enter an email address into the email field. This address can be the same as the one you use for your current account or a different email. After you have saved changes to your profile an automated verification email is sent to the email you listed. Follow the link in the email and your account will be verified to that email.
[b]Q: I can't seem to find the verification email, what happened?[/b]
A: There is always the possibility the email was filtered into your spam folder. The verification email will be sent from webmaster@bungie.com so be on the look out for an email from that address. Alternatively double check that you entered your email into your profile correctly. If you ever need another verification email sent just reenter your email into your profile again.
[b]Q: I've checked my spam folder and double checked my email, but still no luck, what gives?[/b]
A: Some email providers do not seem to receive the verification email. If you have tried the above but still cannot activate your account try using a different email provider. You can easily setup a free email account at Hotmail, Yahoo or Google.
[b]Q: What if I want to change my email listed at a future date?[/b]
A: You can change the email verified on your account at any time though you will be sent a verification email to that new address if you do.
[b]Q: Why should I verify my account in the first place? What are the benefits?[/b]
A: In addition to receiving news updates from Bungie there is the possibility you may be asked to do a survey on your game playing habits, playtests and usability testing for Bungie or even test out Bungie's next game. Remember that while you may be signed up to become an official Bungie Beta tester, it is not a guarantee. You may or may not be selected. Furthermore, no dates for future BETA testing are currently known at this time so do not expect an e-mail right away.

Could this be pinned for the time being? Many gaming sites have reported Bungie's accepting Beta invites so no doubt there will be alot more people coming this weekend.

And I know in my case for one, I've put and re-put the right e-mail in dozens of times over the last few months to make sure there are no typos. I've sent it quite a few times. So I'm still at square one until someone can tell me something else to try.

Because didn't you also not get that one update they e-mailed to people who signed up for it?

I tried to do this, but I changed my email to the one not associated with my linked account (It's associated with a different xbl account btw). When I went and verified my email, it tried to set me up with a new account. So now I have to use this email. It doesn't really make a difference to me, it's just I'll probably forget to read it if/when I do get it, unless it's homepaged or something, like I did with the AoE beta. I just noticed I was in today haha.

Theres always the possibility that your email provider automatically filters certain types of emails without notifying you or putting it in your spam folder. What email system are you trying to get the verification email to? There is also the possibility it could be an issue on Bungie's end. I do know some people like yourself have been unable to get a verification email or those who did never got that carnage report email the other week, myself included. Correct, Vanert. And Roboto, the e-mail I am using is the same one linked to my account (WLID), yes. I've checked my spam folder a hundred times, hah. I'll try to switch the e-mail to one of my others (I have a few throwaway e-mails) and get back to you though, thanks.

OK Roboto here's some good info. Then thanks to your suggestion: Changing it worked. Yahoo consistently allows me to be sent the verification e-mails near instantly. My '.rr.com' e-mail refuses to let them send it. I created and switched to a brand new Yahoo account and hit save changes. The e-mail was sent. I switched it back to my .rr.com e-mail. It did nothing. I switched it back to Yahoo again. The e-mail was sent again. So I now have it, though it will be a little bit of a hassle to remember that account information. So either '.rr.com' won't let them send it, or something relating to the e-mail being your WLID won't let it be sent then.

I received the carnage report the other week, but I'm not sure whether or not I've verified my email. When I first joined, I didn't really check my email that often. Is there a chance I got it, but never actually opened it, and confirmed my email?
