I'm a computer animator with a first class degree in animation. i am against mo-cap! its killing people like me! but it does look really cool! i suppose its time to get a new skill! can't mo-cap do colours? you'd thing the balls on the gun would be diffrent so theres no problems in editing with the computer thinking its an arm [Edited on 06.02.2010 2:46 PM PDT]

That's awesome.

That was a great read with some real interesting info. Thanks Urk.

The toys look good. However honestly, I think they are a waste of money.
-
Wow toys these days!
-
Very interesting article. That light gun...I know it.
Posted by: Crashkon The toys look good. However honestly, I think they are a waste of money.
I doubt scrap metal and that gun cost that much and it is important so they can see how the charecters would really hold the gun.

Always nice reading about how you guys make a fine game a really fine game. Also, any chance of behind the scenes footage with the legendary edition of Halo Reach? Please?

Pretty noice props. I'd like to see him make some legit Bungie Spartan III armour. Tell him to step on it, E3 is super close.
-
That is quite interesting. Thanks for the insight urk!

Motion capture is coolio.

It's official. Nintendo helped make Halo: Reach. :P [Edited on 06.02.2010 3:56 PM PDT]

Very nice and cool Article also very nice Screenshots. I give the Article and the Screenshots 10 out of 10.

Gee, I wonder where I recognize that particular light gun from... Anywho, the NES Zapper goes for about $10 alone, SILVERxxWOLF. Scrap metal probably fairly similar.
-
It gets hot in Mo-cap suits. Prop looks bad ass though, definitely worth it.
-
I've actually been wondering for at least a few years how I can get a job doing motion capture for studios. How exactly does one get into the field? I would love this guy's job.
-
My mind wasn't in the gutter until you said it :P
-
That's so cool!
-
Absolutely awesome, and I nearly choked on my drink when I read the safety note: "Before we go, we wanna drive the point home - safety first. When you begin any project that could result in serious burns, impalement, or even death, you should consult with adult experts and take any and all precautions necessary to ensure a safe working environment."

Very nice article. Love these!
-
Loved the article, it's always neat seeing the behind the scenes and the quirky solutions (like the light gun) that you'd never know helped put the game together. Off topic: When I scrolled down the articles after this piece, they were all related to Halo 2. Caught my eyes, then made them cry :(

First!

Ok, the picture showing the markers on the gun, is that where the butt-ugly carpet in Sword Base came from? (ugly, but I do think it's funny that the UNSC decorates like most other government agencies)
-
Sweet! I love how you warn everyone to not attempt this at all at the top, and at the bottom you give out blueprints. I can't wait to lose a thumb!
