By Mini Game syndrome I mean having multiple gametype schemes that tend to take away from the enjoyment of the game, for instance, Rogue Squadron, with the ATXT (Chicken Walker -- I don't know if the letters are right) and the last level feeling like a cut and paste movie instead of letting you play. But that had a minor set -- With the flight, ground combat, and tank combat -- it seems like it changes often. But I don't know, I haven't played it yet.
Posted by: GameJunkieJim I tried to play through Final Fantasy X-2 again, because Shishka said I didn't give it a fair assessment -- but I really dislike it still, and lose interest easily - I still haven't beaten it....
I saw that thread (and posted in it), it really is such a bad game. The way the game is set out into "Mission Time!" got me... and the way you can't get 100% without buying the official strategy guide. I have to admit, the combat is still nice, but the way you can easily miss important aspects of the game annoyed me. At least with FF7 if you missed materia you could go back and get it, and if you missed an item (say, a Ribbon) you could morph an enemy.
I may even grab Star Wars Battlefront now. I had been shying away from it, unsure of the multiple actions in it -- I was worried it would suffer from Mini-game syndrome. But a lot of people seem to swear by it...
Short but great... I don't really know what you mean by mini-game syndrome for it, all the levels have the same idea behind them, and actually the objectives of the game (killing all the enemy or holding all the spawn points) worked quite well. It does quite well for the "OMGfactor", driving an ATAT is always fun, and I love the snowspeeders and tying the legs up.
-
Yes Star Wars Battlefront is great. But it does occasionly suffer from mini-game syndrome. Just take a month break and comeback to it. If I had LiVE i would be on all night.

Well, with the recent loss of the internet at my home (hence no LIVE) I've been playing some of my other old games... I recently completed Eternal Darkness for the third and final time, so I could goof around with the Eternal mode, I just got my friend hooked on KotOR, and I just completed Metroid Prime and Ico again. I tried to play through Final Fantasy X-2 again, because Shishka said I didn't give it a fair assessment -- but I really dislike it still, and lose interest easily - I still haven't beaten it.... With my Tax return, I will be purchasing KotOR II, MechAssault 2, and getting LIVE back up. I may even grab Star Wars Battlefront now. I had been shying away from it, unsure of the multiple actions in it -- I was worried it would suffer from Mini-game syndrome. But a lot of people seem to swear by it... I also beat Skies of Arcadia (DC version) again, and I'm going to probably add a few more levels to my character in Record of Lodoss war in the next couple weeks.
-
I try to play just about every game I can. Yes I know it consumes alot of time, but the key is not to spend all your time doing it.
-
I've been playing lots of Resident Evil 4 as you can probly tell from my sig.
