I just got it late last night and I'm about a fourth the way through.

It's the sixth installment of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Do NOT read them out-of-order.
what's dark tower six? I hear its very good. where could I get a copy?
You don't know what it is and you "hear it's very good"? And you certainly couldn't find a copy at a bookstore.
-
Oh its a stephen king? pass. But I heard from people they were good. I just wasnt sure what type of book they were.
-
Posted by: ObbiQuiet Did you read three completely?
I think so but it was back in like 97 or 98. I'd have to re-read it, and probably the first two as well.
-
Re-reading it is highly advised. I'm not reading it atm because I'm eating, and because I almost fell asleep while reading. I haven't been getting a whole lot of rest lately what with Summerschool, late nights on the comp (12-1am) and waking up at 5 every morning to go running.

Too much time on your hands, i spend most of the day trying to survive!

Anybody ever read Kurt Vonnegut's stuff?
-
I tend to stick to Eric Nylund's Halo stuff. I've heard good comments about it... Never did like Stephen King stuff. His movies are cool, just never read one of his books.

-
Nevermind. What books do you suggest I read? [Edited on 6/9/2004 7:50:12 PM]

Read The Stand (uncut edition). After you read that read Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger.
-
I've got a stack of King books right here in front of me. Do I just eenie meenie miney moe?
Posted by: ObbiQuiet Re-reading it is highly advised.
Barnes & Noble has the paperbacks on sale @ their website. Which works, because I was going to order Count Zero and Mona Lise Overdrive anyways. Looks like I'm all set for camping.
I'm not reading it atm because I'm eating, and because I almost fell asleep while reading.
Yeah, I hate that -blam!-. Headphones have become a late-night reading staple for me.
-
I think we've got the Stand. Let me look.
-
ObbiQuiet, I know I wrote this a little earlier but no one responded to it. Have you ever read any Kurt Vonnegut? He has a very interesting view on the world. You may like it. edit: Ajenteks, you too. [Edited on 6/9/2004 7:54:37 PM]

Awesome. The Dark Tower paperbacks are really cool looking. :D
-
Posted by: CANNON 117 I think we've got the Stand. Let me look.
They just recently came out with the uncut version. Chances are the one you have is the older cut one. Hardback is over 1200 pages long, oh but it is worth it.

Don't have The Stand, hated the movie of Delores Claiborne, and all we've got is Night Shift and Dreamcatcher. Which one do I read?
