IMPORTANT LORE (concerning guardian origins and more.)

excuse my use of caps, but while trying to catch up on what i missed while i was out i stumbled onto some stuff about grimore cards. Ghosts "in its dying breath the traveler created the ghosts... to seek out those who can wield its light as a weapon, Guardians that protect us and do what the traveler no longer can" Built from machinery and the travelers light, Ghosts guide their guardian companions in the quest to reclaim our solar system. every ghost seeks out its guardian among the ancient dead, the ghost serves as a scout, librarian and mechanic, waking ancient machinery and cracking ancient codes, Ghosts can even save a guardian from death. But ghosts are not immortal, every loss is irreplaceable. take away from this is the ghosts are made from the traveler, and more importantly Our guardian was revived from the ancient dead by the Ghost. This completely screws with my writing, and is the most important thing in this. Bungie may change this, however the text is from the alpha site. And it is also re-enforced by the guardian grimore card which states "chosen from the dead by the travelers ghost" Human "This was our world, our solar system. We were here first. And no matter what the darkness brings, we will be here when it dawns." Humans our survivors, tough and resilient, descending from those who built a golden age only to see it ripped away. Now, after an age of retreat and desperate struggle, they fight to take back their solar system and claim a new future. Their are those who believe the traveler choose earth for a reason. Now it is humanities obligation to prove themselves worthy of its light. Nothing much new here besides some brilliant flavor text such as obligation to the traveler. Awoken "The others sing the song of light and dark. We together have transcended such unimaginative limitations." It is said the awoken were born in the Collapse, descended from those who tried to flee its wrath. Something happened to them out on the edge of the deep Black, and they were forever changed. Today many awoken live in the distant reef aloof and mysterious, but others returned to earth, were their descendants now fight for the city. Earthborn awoken sometimes venture out to the Reef, hoping to learn its secrets - but find no special welcome form the reclusive queen. Some more brilliant flavor text here, along with the rarely seen punctuation, the dash. Also we finally have the origin of the awoken. And a new location, the Reef, home of the awoken. Exo "Ask yourself, what threatened your Golden Age ancestors so much that they built the Exo to defend them" Built for a long forgotten war, the Exos are self aware war machines so advanced that nothing short of a ghost can understand their inner functions. They remain ciphers, even to themselves, their origins and purposes lost to time. Whoever built the Exos fashioned them in humanity's image, gifting them with diversity of mind and body. Many of the Citiy's Exo citizens work and live aside their organic brethren. But others fight again, re-forged in the light of the Traveller to serve as guardians. Some more brilliant flavor text. And the interesting mention that perhaps exos dont understand their inner functions - although i may just be reading into it to mutch. And the idea of re-animated dead being guardians is re-enforced here.

I'd seen the other cards but not this one on Ghosts. Very good! There was also this:
Ghost Fragment: The Dark Age “No one knew what had happened to the Traveler. No one understood what had happened to the world. But they heard the whispered call.” They came from the wild lands, gathering in secret enclaves, slipping through the howling ruins of shattered cities, hoping to find the coast, find a ship, pick up the trail of an impossible dream. From the deep black came the Awoken, their eyes haunted. Exos marched in the refugee columns, cloaked in moss and shattered memories. And among them came the Ghosts, beginning their search. It was a time of vast suffering and terrible evil. But there was one hope: the promise of a refuge beneath the Traveler.
This, and other references, lead strongly to the idea that The City wasn't so much a fully built city that The Traveler settled over but was more a place that refugees from all over the earth gathered after The Traveler drove The Darkness back for us. That said, there is a fair bit of evidence that The Traveler settled over the present day city of Puerto Princesa or possibly whatever ruins were left of it.
