Seeing my Dad for the first time in 10 years... What should I say?
Found out that the father is moving down to my state in a few days and apparently wants to see me. The last time I saw him I was like 10... So obviously it's going to be really freaking awkward. Honestly, I'd prefer to avoid it altogether, but as I grow up I realise that there's no use burning bridges. And I am a little curious, nonetheless.
Seriously though, what the hell am I supposed to say? "Hey, how were the past 10 years?" :lol

3 回覆Say you're sorry for leaving him like that. Seriously, I dunno. I would at least try to rekindle some sort of relationship with him. Did he leave or was it a divorce or? Either way, just act normal. If its awkward its awkward, no getting around that. Its going to be like one of those first date scenarios, but with you know, your dad.

Be honest man, straight up about how you feel about everything regarding the two of you. Perhaps you can salvage a relationship with him. Family is important, if you can move past things, try to be one again with each other.
