Will this harvard study settle the gun control debate?

Banning things doesn't work, look at drugs and the prohibition. Makes organized crime a bigger issue. And the average American isn't going on a mass murder spree with guns, the average American gun owner is using it to hunt.

3 回覆I'll stick with the fact that Australia has not had any mass murders since they had citizens turn in guns and make them illegal to carry.

I support instant background checks, and I have no problem passing laws to regulate the privates sales more, but please don't pretend like guns won't get into the hands of thugs and criminals. The liberals promote these "gun free zones" and restrictions on public carry, and all they are doing is making people less safe. If politicians want to get tough on guns and actually do something, they need to start by dramatically increasing prison sentences for people who commit crimes with a firearm, regardless of how minor the crime seems to be. Hold up a 7-11 with a gun, mandatory 30 year sentence. Rob someone on the street with a gun, mandatory 30 year sentence. Get caught with a gun as a felon or a stolen gun, 20 years. I live in a city and we have armed robberies every day. We are all sick of the gun violence, but please do not expect me to surrender my ability to protect myself because you want to put a "gun free zone" sticker on your store window and feel happy feelings inside.

29 回覆If you go to fbi.gov's own statistics it shows that since the 1980's gun ownership has gone up 53% and crime has gone down 47%(bc no one fks with people who can defend themselves) Guess what cities in the US have the highest crime/murder rates... Now guess what cities in the US have the strictest gun control laws... Libtards hate facts tho... QUESTION: Would you feel more safe with a sign in front of your house that says "this is a gun free zone"(like sandy hook) or a sign that says, "Heavily armed, there's nothing here worth dying for" If you chose the former, and not the latter you've gone full retard.

The average number of arrests for an intentional homicide (by firearm) victim in the US is 5. It's almost exclusively gangs killing people in other gangs. Government should go after the problem not the symptom, and not be influenced into make massive policy change by outlying events.
