*A Wild Gringo has appeared*
The big question on every Destiny player's mind is Destiny 2. Nobody had any real clue what the story will be based on (although there was heavy handed foreshadowing about the Cabal in TTK) but it is assumed that none of the current enemy races have died off (though the case could be made for Taken as we don't know if any being can currently Take, but I digress). One of the more prominent enemies in Destiny was the Fallen, the Space Pirates who got the short straw when it came to having their asses handed to them. The Eliksni are my current favorite enemy in Destiny for several reasons, but the largest being their parallels to humanity in spite of their apparent differences. I wish to see this expanded in Destiny 2 but that brings up the question; how will they be relevant in Destiny 2? As I said, in Destiny 1 they had their asses handed to them on a silver platter and are currently the enemy with the most danger of being killed off. Here I will explain some possibilities about what Bungie could do to keep the Fallen relevant in Destiny 2 based on what we know in Destiny currently.
Allies
As I mentioned prior, the Fallen are very similar to humanity. They were also visited by the Traveler and suffered their own collapse when it left them. The reason they are fighting humanity currently is to reclaim the Traveler (excluding the Devil Splicers, who replaced it with SIVA and want revenge). With the Fallen as desperate as they currently are, I could imagine a few going the route of Variks and supporting the Guardians to be with their Traveler once again. Perhaps we might even get Fallen Guardians. There is nothing lore wise that absolutely disproves this possibility.
Splicers
This us one of the more practical possibilities. You see, the Vex and Hive can pull new cannon fodder out for us to shoot without making a dent in the lore. We also know next to nothing about the Cabal as a species and they could also come up with new morphs, breeds, unit types, etcetera without pushing the lore. They could also pull out a new species like the Psions and that would be hunky dory. The Fallen, on the other hand, are quite limited. The different "types" of Fallen are caused by their different intakes of Ether. As far as we know, there is no "in between" of types (like some Dreg with arms or something unholy like that). The possibility of a different subspecies is low and the only other option is something bigger than a Captain, like a redesigned Barron. Other than that, the best option for new enemy types is further augmentation by Splicers. They don't need SIVA to do their Splicing thing but SIVA is still a possibility. SIVA still exists in the Plaguelands and there is large chance there is another replicator. I mean just think about it, something as important as that and you build one production facility.
Variks
We don't know much about Variks and his machinations, but we do know that he wishes to reunite all the Fallen Houses under one banner. What this means for the Guardians is unknown. He could seek to be allies with the City, or he could betray the Reef once he rises to power. Time will tell.
A New House
We do know that other Houses exist(ed) in Destiny. It would not be out of the question for a new House, hiding somewhere in this system or from outside it, could come along and provide a new threat. Stone and Scar are possibilities, but we don't really know.
Time Traveling Skolas
Now this is a long and in depth theory that I'll try to find a post for that better does it justice, but until then I'll just summarize it. In HoW Skolas gains the ability to time travel. In spite of this, he manages to get captured within minutes of this. It is theorized that the strange Vex Signal at the end of the first HoW missionthat was never explained was actually Skolas time traveling to replace himself so the one without time traveling abilities is killed in the last mission while time traveler Skolas is free to move through time amassing an army. It seems convoluted but Destiny is no stranger to convoluted time travel. If this is the case, it could cause some cool possibilities like the Fallen becoming a larger threat than the Cabal or Hive.
Nothing
The Fallen are weak but the Kings remain. We could continue to fight what remains of the Fallen as dispersed pirates and nothing much would really change.
Extinction
This is the least likely possibility. Bungie could decide that, for whatever reason, they do not want Fallen in their next game. The Fallen are currently very weak and Bungie could just say "they're so dispersed that is why you don't see them." Then they could have a triumphant return or die off. This is a possibility I highly doubt would actually happen, and I hope it doesn't.
Are there any possibilities for the Fallen in Destiny 2? Comment below and please check out more lore in my Clan, The Ashen Conflux, of which I am an admin. . Thanks and have a great day.

由LadiesMan217164編輯: 3/3/2017 10:23:04 PMI think the Kings will defiantly play a role further down the line, possibly later in D2. Assuming D2 kicks off with the tower or city being sieged or breached by Cabal it will present the absolute perfect opportunity for the Kings to complete their goal: steal the traveler for themselves. They still have full force as far as we know - they have a kell, probably a prime servitor, it can be assumed they have an Archon priest as well and above all they are very smart. They could go for a smash and grab while our defences are down and try and take the traveller however (and I think this is the more interesting yet unlikely idea) if the cabal attack and threaten to destroy the traveller the Kings might actually help us, period, to protect the traveller maybe for a share of its power. The Kings may become permanent residents under the traveller, but due to their hate for us 'thieves' they probably won't want to share.
