So I thought that the Last City's placement was common knowledge at this point, but I guess not. So let me clarify for those of you confused.
Firstly let me tell you the name of this thread is somewhat misleading. While the position of the Last City has been seemingly narrowed down through evidence, nobody is certain. That being said, what I truly mean by the name is simply that the Last City isn't next to the Cosmodrome. It may very well be in Old Russia, it just isn't next to the Cosmodrome where many believe it to be. This belief is based on the simple (wrong) assumption that the same wall that surrounds the Cosmodrome is in fact the wall that surrounds the City.
Why it isn't next to The Cosmodrome
Now let me point out a few flaws in that assumption:
1. You say the Cosmodrome is on the inside of the wall, but you were resurrected outside the Wall. You go there in a mission for HoW. Neither time do you see the City. If you say the Cosmodrome is outside the wall, when you cross over to the inside, should you not be inside the City?
2. In the mission, Cayde's Stash, you go on one of the colony ships. This is very high up, and you can the the entire Cosmodrome and beyond. From this view, you can see no large city in the distance, let alone a huge white ball the size of a small moon.
3. The Cosmodrome wall was build long before the Collapse. There is plenty of evidence of this, most notably the large POGA signs plastered around. Wouldn't it be strange for the Titans who build the wall (years after the Collapse) to plaster signs of pre collapse organizations. It also is blatantly stated that the wall was build around the Cosmodrome to protect the colony ships during the collapse.
4. The last and most simple point is: there can be more than one wall existing at a time. Just because we see a wall in Old Russia doesn't mean it is the same one we see surrounding the City.
Where the Last City may be
This is pure speculation. Past this point nothing is certain
Now Bungie has never come out and said where the Last City is. Every time you go to a place in or around the City, it just says the location is "The Last City" or "City Perimeter". This hasn't kept the community from speculating. Based on evidence, we have pinpointed where the Last City may be. Here's the evidence:
1. Guardians have tracked the sun over the Tower and come to realize that the City is somewhere 28.3' North.
2. So at this point we have it narrowed down to a country at 28.3' N. The final nail in the coffin is the Last City's topography and climate. It appears that the City is in a cold, temperate area, shown by the often snow. It is also in a very mountainous region. The best place that fits this description is... Pokhara, Nepal
So there you go, the City is most likely in Nepal. This would also add some irony to Bungie's involvement in the recent Nepal earthquake.
Tl;Dr?
While the Last City's location is still unconfirmed, the most likely spot of it is in Nepal. That being said we know for sure the Last City isn't next to the Cosmodrome. Some other options are Nepal and some other part of Russia
由lanthanien編輯: 10/3/2016 4:45:32 PMCould someone go to Twilight Gap and look at any signs or labels and see what language they're in? If they're mostly in one language it could be assumed that the last city is in a country that spoke that language. So let's take Russia for example. If someone were to go to Twilight and see a sign that said "stop" in Russian, a crate that said "Fragile contents" in Russian, and all kinds of other stuff, then it could be assumed that the last city is in Russia. It's just a thought, maybe I'm insane. Edit: You could even check Frontier. Last I checked it was also on the perimeter of the city.

The reason the walls look so similar is probably because SIVA was used to construct them. If there was a SIVA template for a wall that humanity used to make collapse time fortifications then the Iron Lords could have used SIVA to build the city wall before it got out of their hands.

由FractiousBullet編輯: 8/26/2016 10:06:27 AMNobody seems to mention the fact that you travel a long distance in your first Ship from the cosmodrome to the City. We know where the cosmodrome is in relation to Russia's geographics, all you need to do is find out which direction North/East/South/West the ship goes and predict a likely spot based on the Cities surrounding formations.

Anyone else considering contacting Game Theory? These theories are getting out of hand.
No seriously someone contact MatPat
Twlight Gap is in the Cosmodrome. You can see the Traveler from Twlight Gap. The Traveler is directly above the Last City/Tower. Therfore, the Last City is in or very near to the Cosmodrome. Further evidence? Both the House of Kings and House of Devils have their lairs located in the Cosmodrome. The Devils have made multiple attacks against the city, such as the Battle of the Six Fronts. The Devils helped with the attack on Twlight Gap. In other words, 2 warring Cosmodrome factions have attacked the City.... in the Cosmodrome. You don't even know how big the Cosmodrome is. Your assumption is based on you knowing whether or not you can see the Traveler from any part of the Cosmodrome, but there are parts we cannot get to yet. Parts that can't even be seen in the Caydes Stash mission. We could very well be focused on one side of the Cosmodrome, while the Traveler and City are on the other side. As far as the suns cycle determining where we are, I'm 100% certain that is BS. No game designers, not even Bungie, would make such a little detail. More than likely, they gave it a random cycle, and it coincidentally shared the same as the coordinate you gave. It had to share the same coordinates as somewhere. Personally, I will rather follow lore, which says that Twlight Gap is in the Cosmodrome and you can see the Traveler from Twlight Gap, and it is directly above the City, than follow what is more than likely just a random sun cycle. #TitanMasterRace

由VicVinces編輯: 8/25/2016 2:42:10 PMLol people are saying it cant be northern/southern hemisphere because of the suns movement. It has to be one of them.

Don't you guys think the Traveler is smaller viewed from the tower than what we saw in the advertising etc

Twilight gap is in new hampshire usa, the cosmodrome is in russia, the last city is in hawaii, exodus blue is in new guinea. Im pretty sure frontier is somewhere on the amazon river. The earth has tilted approximately 55.3 degrees ssw. The new north pole is in washington state. Thats why the longitude of the suns course appears so. The european dead zone refers to the new europe which is mostly africa.

It's actually in Kazakhstan. Close to the Caspian Sea which is references on rare armor and in the grimoire. Also, due to the collapse, a lot of knowledge and history was lost to time. Seeing as Kazakhstan was a part of the USSR, and this was most likely the best information they could salvage, this makes the most sense.

2 facts that prove the last city is in old russia: 1) Twilight gap is in the border of the cosmodrome. http://i.imgur.com/946T6ce.jpg 2) The Devils nest on the cosmodrome and they do in the past constant raids to the last city.

The historical Cosmodrome is located in Baikonur, Kazakhstan, a former Soviet republic and part of the old Russian Empire. The terrain is flat and arid, with sparse vegetation and open skies. The Caspian Sea lies directly to the west. To the east are a number of large lakes as well as the Tian Shan mountain range. The city of Almaty lies in the foothills of this range, along with a few others.

由Tim vdB3編輯: 8/25/2016 11:13:19 PMWasn't it already revealed to be somewhere in near Argentine. Also the last city resides near a big lake which makes Nepal unlikely to be the location.

I agree. Remember the stupid long cutscene just after you get your ship? That's a pretty long cutscene that includes many mountains. Only reason I remembered it was because I just recently restarted my hunter (it looked ugly) and recently completed the story.

由Whoppenheimer編輯: 8/24/2016 11:14:35 PMSorry guys but this image debunks everything that says the last city is in different parts of the world. It's in Old Russia. This pic is from twilight gap. Where you can clearly see the Traveler, City Perimeter
-
由VicVinces編輯: 8/25/2016 10:02:35 PM2. Not able to see the city/traveller Can you see either from the twilight gap map? Twilight gap is on the outskirts of the city so if you cannot see the city/traveller from there then the cosmodrom could still by nearby and out of view of the city/traveller.

由VicVinces編輯: 8/25/2016 5:31:40 PMOk so this pic (pic1 of 9) is from destiny wiki and you can cearly sea a large body of water nearby the traveller. There are no large bodies of water near Nepal. However, the Caspian Sea borders a mountainous area of Russia.
solved
