At least 59 people were killed and 175 injured in Saturday's attack on a Nairobi shopping centre, Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
More than 1,000 people were brought out of the Westgate shopping centre and the rescue operation continues, Mr Kenyatta said at a news conference on Sunday.
Between 10 and 15 attackers - thought to be militants from the Somali al-Shabab movement - are still inside.
Some civilians are still trapped, either as hostages or in hiding.
I and other people who love OSINT gathering have knew that al-Shabaab was going to ramp up attacks in Kenya, but I for one definitely didn't see this happening. This is a tragic event and more people than just Kenyan's have died. Apparently, British, French, Australian and Canadian citizens are among the victims; I've also seen reports of American victims, as well.
This is turning into one of the biggest terrorist attacks of the year (outside of a warzone) and I've yet to see anything about this on here.
Your thoughts on this situation? Your thoughts on anything relevant to this type of situation (i.e terrorism)?

I'm worried about the Kenyan military's response. Knowing little about them, I'm unsure about how they will deal with the situation. Are they the sort of military to charge in? Do they have adequate training to do that effectively? I just hope no hostages are hurt from friendly fire.

My initial thoughts were >A bunch of people were killed in Africa Not even surprised. I really don't know what you do to stop it though.
