Let's say...
You're standing on a dock that sits over a lake.
You see your pet and a stranger drowning, your pet on the left and the stranger on the right. They are both the same distance away from you.
You only have time to save one, so you must choose. There's absolutely no way to save both of them.
So who would you save?

I would love to save my pet.. But human life has more meaning then a dogs. I know that sounds bad, but humans live longer, have families and make a bigger impact. So as much as it pains me to think about it, I would have to save the stranger

It is for this very reason that I do not own pets. I found it funny that some people in another questionnaire answered that they thought starving animals were worse than starving children. As if those people would rather feed their pet than their child.

The replies in this thread sicken me I honestly expected more from you guys Does human life really mean that little to you? And for all of you saying "I love my pet. It's a part of my family" You're very selfish You're only saving the pet so that you don't suffer You're basically saying "Fuck the stranger's family, I don't want to feel sad" Sometimes, you have to let it go and do what's right And really, imagine you're drowning It'd be pretty weird to see someone swimming over to their dog instead of you Or imagine it was your sister in the water You'd be pretty mad at the asshole who chose to save his dog instead of your sister If anyone says "I'd understand" then I'm calling bullshit on them Either that or you don't value your family as much as anyone should Also, in the heat of the moment, would you really save your dog? Could you really ignore the desperate screams and pleas of someone trying to survive? I don't think so

But my pet megaladon can swim. Plus the lake would be his home. I value human life, but that dude is F*cked!
