I am already kind of an awkward dude, but when it comes to kids, my awkwardness intensifies. It doesn't help that whenever I'm interacting with a child, I get these randomly violent thoughts like, "I could kill you right now if I wanted to" and other weird shit. I definitely don't hate kids, it's just that I'm bad at interacting with them.
So Flood, how are the rest of you with children?

kids are sooo adorable but they can't seem to stop stealing my stuff i lost a jacket to one of them a while back :/

Through my teens I HATED other people's kids. The screaming, yelling, smelly, out of control, undisciplined, unruly, dirty, sticky, little monsters, controlling Mommy and Daddy with some form of odd mind control. Then I got a girlfriend pregnant.... The pregnancy never naturally formed and self terminated. We ended up getting married a few months late anyhow, planned before the pregnancy. Anyhow the wife is obsessed with having the baby she lost, I'm ok with not having one for a few years to get financially stable and for all the reasons I listed above. I lose. Now having 2 sons, I can't think of ever not having them. They do change your existence. And I can say, my sons were never like the list of thing I hated about others's children. Ok, occasionally sticky, but none of the other things.

由Wolvers II編輯: 3/2/2014 11:33:18 AMBrilliant. Had a baby brother born when I was 12, his Dad hasn't really been around (guy's a scumbag, punched him in the face a few months ago for being extremely rude to my mum at our front door) so I've practically helped raise him. Went to my gf's house over New Year, she has a little brother and little sister. Pretty much won her Mum's approval straight away by how good with them I was, when I left to go home they were crying because they wanted me to stay. I will make for such a good Dad.

The great thing about little kids is that they have no concept of awkwardness. So you can be exceptionally awkward around them and chances are they'll probably just think you're funny or weird. I don't particularly enjoy the company of children either, but I enjoy Disney, Pixar, and animated movies, so that helps a lot. And I can be immaturely funny without being vulgar, which kids love. Don't dumb yourself down to what you think is their level. They really don't like that. Just interact with them like you would everyone else. And... Don't let anxiety get to you. It serves no purpose at all and only exists to hold you back.
