*Note* Ground Forces is in close beta right now and you pretty much have to pay to get in, it will be free to play when it releases* Is just looking amazing! If you don't know what War Thunder is it is a free to play air combat game centered mostly around World War 2 and Korean war aircraft, however the ground forces expansion coming out is adding the ability to use tanks. What makes it so great is pretty much everything there doing with it, the graphics, the physics for the tanks (How they move around and act is probably the most realistic depiction I can think of right now). Armor penetration and proper penetration tables were used in determining what gun is good at what and what tanks can take certain hits. Aircraft and tanks can also be used together concurrently in the game right now on the same map, and down the road we have naval ships coming as well which will also participate on the same map. War Thunder is leaning towards the sim side with the tanks right now(And aircraft), but it does feature an arcade mode for those just getting into air combat/tank combat which relaxes the flight model of aircraft and lets you take a lot more damage. If your more interested in realism like I am there are full real battles and historical battles which make flight models more intense and damage increased to realistic levels. Overall though War Thunder is looking to be a great combined arms sim/arcadey hybrid that I can definitely see myself playing for a while!
