So the whole world is now good. Immorality is virtually unknown and every reason why people can't have nice things is gone. All the governments in the world must now decide what is best for the people. Should we have a capitalist society? The rich CEOs will not be greedy and will have the good of society/environment in mind when making business decisions. Or should we have a communist society? The people work for the good of the people as opposed the good of themselves as individuals.
EDIT: All of you that thinks morality is subject can go -blam!- yourselves. Please become a divine command theorist/moral realist/etc. for the sake of this thread.

>2013+14 >People still voting for Communism on anything If we lived in a world free of corruption and immorality, communism would still be inferior to capitalism. Under Capitalism competition creates better technology and innovation. Not to mention I have the power of free choice in the market. Regardless of good intentions, I still want the power to buy whatever I cereal I want and not what the government tells me what cereal I'm going to get.
-
You mean to tell me that everyone will use their turn signals/indicators. I don't believe you.
-
Neither a resource based economy would be the best choice . We don't need money it's only holding us back.
-
In a perfect moral society, greed wouldn't exist, therefore making communism the only option. I also appreciate that you know what real communism is, Dutchy.
-
So basically you're situation is "Everybody acts in such a way that two systems are made perfect", and now we have to choose between these two perfect systems?

By far, Capitalism is the best. Communism works upon the ideology that "human nature is inherently evil to some degree," wherein the masses cannot be trusted to operate the market in an equal and fair manner, so the Government must keep everything under control. If humanity can be trusted, though, then that means Capitalism is the best option.

由DeclinedA01編輯: 12/26/2013 12:01:36 PMEven if that was the case, in having the government decide who gets what it means that individuals can't decide. The government will give to some at the expense of others. You are assuming of course that the government can predict exactly what will happen and that all affected individuals will be better off. You seem to be taking a lot for granted. Not to mention that, as already mentioned, morality is subjective. The economy requires no central direction. For it will direct itself through voluntary exchange with information derived from the price system.

Capitalism would lead to more growth and wealth, but these hypothetical utopia questions are pretty pointless.

Fair trade, and a competitive market would boost technology. Say Bob makes a car, and sells that model for money. Steve makes a better car, and then sells that car model for money. Bob then adapts, and makes an even better car to sell. And this repeats, as both Bob, and Steve strive to make better products to sell. People will buy the better product, rewarding ingenuity.

true communism is a lie and would only exist for a brief moment, after that people would trade their belongings and services to get things they need thus resulting in pure small scale capitalism
good or not, you wouldnt just give your lawnmower to your neighbor without expecting something in return
