I hope they explain how she has an Avatar State, when she claims that she lost the connection to all of her past lives

I didn't say that, but Korra has displayed being able to use more than one element at the same time out of the Avatar State, which is one thing its known for Or, it was a horrible editing mistake that they made in that episode, and in which case, I don't see much benefit other than just that
