Israel is fully capable of bombing Iran's nuclear facilities if they really felt in danger. I'd say once it crosses that line, the United States can step in depending upon the response from Iran and the rest of the world.

If need be, the only possible way to delay their program indefinitely is by US airstrikes. So, I'd say you're right in your assessment.
I also implore you to look over that PDF. While US airstrikes, along with military efforts by regional allies, are really the only way to indefinitely delay their program, any attack on Iran could have severe repercussions. The PDF does an excellent job of outlining both how a sustained military operation against Iran could play out and what consequences could arise from such an action.
