next gen games to be £55? (UK)

Ok, this is concerning. Next gen games across the board are being listed for £54.99, for both PS4 and Xbox One. This is in comparison to current gen new releases listed at £39.99 on average. I've checked various sites including Amazon, Game and GameStop UK. The equivalent games in the US are listed at $60, the same as current gen new releases. This was put down initially to placeholder prices, but it doesn't seem to be changing. plus on amazon.co.uk the "placeholder" notfications, which are usually shown on products with placeholder prices, are gone. What's the justification here? Simple greed? The 'rip off Britain' effect? Are we going to have to wait for slow initial sales before prices normalise?

  • Well time has passed, we're merely weeks away from away form both console launches and we Brits seems to still be dealing with a mark up of £15. Does anyone know whats really going on? I looked at other countries Germany, Spain, the US. They all seem to be paying the same money as they were on the current gen.
