And this just backs up the argument for having shaped weapons. If there's a God roll why have a y other roll available. If there are more than one good roll than why must it take up multiple slots? Play more get less play less lose out and vice versa.

  • Because everybody does not play “the god roll” People create builds that work in different ways. If crafting wasn’t a thing and one roll is best for a weapon, then why even have random rolls. Oh yeah they tried that with launch of D2 and fixed rolls were weak. Crafting allows people to play differently, random rolls allow people to settle or grind. I think that crafting should have worked as get a perk and then level it up and it becomes available to craft said weapons with that perk. You get the combo you want level then both up and your perks are set, continue to get drops for barrels and magazines you want. All needing to level, only by playing. You should earn enhanced perks. Not buy them. But don’t worry we are like 4 months away from a weapon and armor overhaul. Hoarders are freaking out about vault space when 99 percent will be worthless soon. Both armor and weapons!!!

  • I thought it was just armor and not weapons. I will say that we do need a massive weapons overhaul and a switch into turning Crafting into a bad luck protection system only. Enhanced perks should have been reserved for Random Drops and Adept Variants.

  • It will be weapons with different levels. They said level 1-5. They said the more difficult you make an activity the level of the weapon you will get, with enhanceable barrels and magazines. They gave the scenario of selecting a nightfall and adding a bunch of modifiers to make the game more rewarding.

  • There’s definitely an argument for having some shaped weapons but I think there needs to be a good balance between shaped and random rolled weapons. The game needs to appeal to everyone who plays it whether that be someone who wants to grind out 100 nightfalls to get that rare god roll or someone who doesn’t have the time or patience to do that and wants a guaranteed god roll if they put I a certain amount of work. Destiny has always seemed to favour 1 lot of players over another and it’s always causing strife in the community. They need to find a middle ground.

  • If someone [i]wants[/i] to grind an activity for a god roll, cratfing doesn't stop them. You don't have to craft, you can farm the old fashioned way and ignore any red borders that drop

  • That doesn’t work because no one would do it. Part of the draw for those chasing a random rolled god roll is the fact they are rare and therefore a bragging right. Why would someone choose to ignore the fact they could easily make something instead of chasing a random rolled god roll that everyone has? Quite honestly even suggesting that is insulting. People need to accept that the player base has a wide range of players all wanting different things out the game and because of that not everything is there for them and instead some stuff is there to satisfy other players wants.

  • I don’t feel that was insulting at all honestly. If somebody hates crafting and likes to grind then go grind, and if someone wants to craft then that shouldn’t be anybody else concern because they chose a different path towards the same goal is their choice. People wanting everybody to be forced the same way into their thinking is what the issue it and ultimately everyone has different time restraints so having a faster option is always better over forcing endless grinds that many don’t have time to do

  • You don’t find it insulting because you don’t understand the draw to random rolls. It’s not about the mindless grind it’s about winning the RNG lottery and then showing it off. Now the insulting bit is expecting someone to be stupid enough to mindlessly grind for something that they can already make just because you want it craftable. You argue that: [quote]People wanting everybody to be forced the same way into their thinking is what the issue[/quote] But that’s exactly what you are doing. You are wanting everything to be craftable which is just swinging in favour of those who don’t want to grind and expecting those who do want to grind to be dumb enough to continue the grind. It doesn’t work because the game becomes shallow. Think back to vanilla D2 where there were only static rolls available. As soon as you got the weapon to drop there was absolutely no reason to do that activity again because you weren’t going to get a better roll. There was no excitement in getting a 2nd or 3rd drop of that weapon because they were literally just going to get deleted straight away. That almost killed the game because it took away the replay-ability and Bungie had to reintroduce random rolls. That’s exactly the same with craftable weapons apart from you might get a little bit more play time before earning the blueprints. I’m arguing for balance, an even split between craftable and random rolls. That way everyone is respected because everyone has something to earn or chase depending on their time restraints.

  • „It’s about winning the RNG lottery and then showing it off" it's hard to win that RNG lottery when Bungie just can make certain things to drop less to extend player time

  • It’s hard playing any lottery or just gambling in general because it’s always set up in the dealers favour. Rationality we all know this, even gamblers but they still play because it scratches that itch nothing else will. Some people don’t have this itch and prefer earning their stuff through work and a guaranteed pay day. Neither one is right or wrong, they just have different wants and both should be catered to.

  • "both should be catered to" and Bungi can please both sides If someone wants a „shortcut" to get their god rolls in the form of crafting then let them have it and if someone what's to grind their god rolls then those can do the OG „grindig until it drops" method Bungie has the correct ingredients to please everyone in this case

  • They had the right formulae when they used gave us both craftable and RNG weapons to chase but like usual they listened to one of the extreme groups in our community and swung everything in their favour. They need to listen to everyone and give each group their slice of the pie.

  • I understand all that as I was a D1 vet and remember everything from the beginning and nobody cares about someone else flex of their random roll like before that’s real. Before maybe , but now nobody really cares about somebody else stuff

  • So you don’t care about someone else’s stuff or flex and that’s ok I don’t either. But their stuff or flex isn’t about you or me, it’s about them and they do care and their wants and needs need respecting too just as much as mine or yours. There’s to much entitlement in this community thinking the game should be tailored to them. It doesn’t work and never has worked. Because as soon as Bungie favours one group over another the game suffers. Everyone needs some part of the game to appeal to them but they need to relies not everything in the game is there just for them.
