For how much items cost with Xur, I feel that the inventory limit for items should be above 99. Perhaps especially rare gear like the exotic class items need to have their cost updated if this were to happen, but currently the cost for single items warrants raising the limit to ~200.
The grind currently if you want a catalyst and an exotic item alone is that you have to spend most of your strange coins, then roughly 45 minutes doing playlist activities to resupply enough for the other item. If you want legendary gear of any kind, at that point you’ll be doing MORE grinding all within the span of four days.
While the cost for items and the amount you receive from completing a playlist activity feels right, this one thing stands out as a barrier to Xur’s economy feeling engaging and fluid.

About sure how I feel about this. Most of the time I have nothing to spend the coins on. It’s probably new player only feeling the squeeze on this economy.

why have limits at all. If people want to play, why can't they earn the rewards. Its literally that easy.

Bungie can't help themselves, they MUST control the grind and allow the hamster wheel to rotate as they see fit. Let's face it, even after all this time you STILL have to physically pick up glimmer chunks! Ghost should have a permanent powerful attraction field, dutifully scooping up the minor loot imo. Low stack caps especially on high desirability materials like exotic and nightfall ciphers. Memento limitations, ok it's now 3 but was 1 for ages and even now do these really need a limit? If there must be a limit at least the items involved should be allowed multiple stacks or be transferable into the vault.

but if you remove the limit you wont be force to engage with activity's messing with engagement metrics showing active players in all activity's on a daily/weekly/hourly basis and with less engagement the chance a player will have contact with a player with premium items will also be less slowing the rate of impulse buys at the cosmetic store front reducing favorable numbers on tracked usage and monetization in game causing missed quotas and bad quarterly paper numbers do we play the game or are we being played? a concerned and now nameless guardian

One problem for me is that they are adding exotic class items with a cost of 41 coins. I did the math and if you were lucky to get all 192 rolls (on warlock, titan, and hunter combined) with no duplicates, it would cost 7,872 strange coins as a whole. That is far too expensive and way too much time spent on something that is only available for about 4 days in the week. Absolutely terrible system.

Definitely agree. Honestly, the activities that strange coins drop in are ones Bungie probably wants their average players in anyway. Makes sense to lengthen the time it takes for a player to feel like they’re wasting their time in them
