I feel like they prolly lying cuz how they gonna keep this up for so long and who is ddos the destiny 2 servers like be fr ain’t no back in the day lizard gang hitting gta -blam!-. the servers are just garbage to begin with and now something else is going on and bungie is in way over there head . But maybe I’m wrong and lizard gang 2.0 is back

Of course they're lying lmfao. you cant target and ddos their servers constantly for a week straight, without also disruptin the forums which use the exact same servers. We'd be seeing constant errors anytime we try posting or interacting. The only people upset by this notion that its not a ddos, are the incredibly inept who cant think for themselves, or are just clueless to how closely tied the forum is to the game itself.

If the "Bungo lyin" story was being peddled by people other than angry conspiracy theorists, i'd be much more inclined to believe it. Unfortunately you have people like Rinzlol at the forefront so the idea will look silly regardless.

Unfortunately you're not really going to get a good answer to this. Anyone can argue with any evidence for it being a ddos attack, but cannot prove that's what Bungie is specifically dealing with since they aren't involved in the process. However it's much more common to get someone calling this bullshit due to frustrations at the servers being a commonplace event. I genuinely believe it is a cyber attack for a few reasons: - DDOS-ing is fairly easy to make anonymous technically speaking, which gives them a shield. As well as the time it kicks in is only in high player times such as resets, and weekends. This would mean the attack is low strain enough so that it effects the majority of people during these specific times. - Bungie is not talking: as much as people want them to give updates, the issue is that this is very delicate information. The attack is known, but any updates on progress or ongoing defense will give the attacker information to work against them with. As from my little knows on cyber-attacks I at least know any tiny amount of information is a weapon. - They told us it was a DDOS attack specifically, not just a cyber attack. This was probably only done out of frustration and desperation to find understanding in the community. They gave us funny guns for a bit instead of immediately fixing it, only to then have teams on the fix working hard and likely overtime just to fix this bug without a rollback. I know many people won't believe anything from Bungie whether due to being cynical, adversarial, or genuinely feeling like their trust has been broken before. All in all, I do think this is an attack, however I don't believe its something bungies can talk much about to avoid the issues. Hopefully this can be concluded and resolved, but if the attack goes on for multiple weeks I will say it will be hard to deny it being an ongoing server attack from some very petty individuals. If it gets fixed completely this Tuesday I'll admit some skepticism is going to arise. Either way we'll see.

The more n more I think about it the more I think you are right if only they invested some of the billions they have given to the bent board mob

Funny how everyone instantly "knows" what is happening . Suddenly it is a ddos attack from the lizard gang ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
And also the fact they’ve given absolutely zero updates I’m calling bullshit on the ddos

In a DDoS attack it should bring down their entire network, right? Crash their API? It’s odd that their website/app/and all third party apps that utilize their API are all still fully functional….
