Got same exotic twice in a row
I'm wondering if this is normal or not...
I was under the impression that we should not get the same exotic until at least we've collected all of them.
I have all the DLCs
Went to Xur today, purchased an exotic with the exotic cypher and got an 1800 promethium spur (warlock boots).
I continued playing, hit rank 98 of season 20 and clicked on the exotic engram and I got a 1803 promethium spur... Again.
Is that possible, should that not have happened ?

Xur and the battle will only give you exotics on a knockout list for what is essentially the exotics that we’re released before legend lost sectors were introduced. A vast majority of exotics can only be obtained from legend lost sectors. As far as the weapons go there are certain weapons that you currently can only obtain via the monument to lost light. These include exotics from sunset raids, and exotics that were obtained via a quest that is no longer available. You can only purchase exotics from the kiosk by using various endgame materials like ascendant shards and spoils of conquest
