No its not. Don't post something you just assume before even reading all the posts. Its console too. Console has zero to do with steam.

Steam service was down only a few hours ago, i cannot use forums friends list or any other services on steam right now, and whilst it was down D2 wasnt working as well. just because you are on console doesnt mean a steam outage would not cause a server issue on D2 it is cross platform.

Uh, what? Just because it's cross platform doesn't mean steam would have anything to do with destiny servers. Steam doesn't run any destiny servers. Its only Bungie. Your cross platform argument doesn't make any sense. So no, steam being down would have zero effect on anything Destiny related as far as it being down. Thats like saying since I'm on Playstation, Sony having a server issue means all the games they help connect to are down..

If steam is having an issue and D2 needs to do a reboot or maintenance for their servers because of it, which they did do a reboot, and steam also was having an issue like i already stated everyone would get booted. They only use playstation, xbox and steam as authentication for you to log in, that is why you need a bungie acc to play the game, i really dont understand what you dont get. THEY SHARE THE SAME SERVICE AND ARE CROSS PLATFORM. Maybe it was a coincidence that both services miraculously went down at the same exact time 2 times today (doubt). anywho the servers are back up go play.
