I mainly play PvP in Destiny 2, have done for years. Most of my playtime has been in Quickplay, mostly Control, with 6,796 total Valor games played to date. The reason I stick to Quickplay is because I’m the parent of a young child. I have never been one to quit games if they’re going badly, but occasionally my Daughter needs me, so I have to leave. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to leave a casual game mode in a computer game to respond to or take care of a child. I hope most would agree. I’ve just realised that after all these years and matches, I can no longer play Control. If I act as a responsible parent and quit a game when necessary to take care of my Daughter I’m now going to get suspended from the game. That doesn’t make sense on any level. I understand that people leaving matches is frustrating for those left, but in Quickplay they’ve always been replaced quickly. It’s never been much of an issue for me. Please Bungie, leave quitter penalties for competitive game modes. You constantly talk about social responsibility, inclusion and accessibility, yet you are purposefully excluding responsible parents from playing your casual PvP mode. If I have to make a choice between Destiny 2 and my Daughter, it’s not even close, but I shouldn’t have to.
