I did the link and was taken to discord then directed off discord for something called Charlemagne that wants access to my Bungie account. I’m confused.

Yes it links your destiny account to it, it doesn't harm anything, just registers you into the server where charlemagne, the destiny bot, tracks things like xur and weekly rotations. It does not give us any access to your account or anything
