Freedom of expression with our light.
Okay, To get started. Because of the lack of expression we have to our own guardians background and such, I had to bring this idea to light. So when it comes to abilities our guardian has in the light (Hammer of Sol, Burning maul, Golden gun, Blade of Dawn, ect) did you guys realize that it's subjective to that guardians own will? These weapons aren't the end all be all to what you can shape with your light. For example, Lord Saladin has an axe for his super Instead of hammer of Sol, or burning maul, Ghaul even had completely different weapons than we did because the light took a shape that he himself conjured. My theory with this is that light is a self expression type of deal and the reason why we have these carved pathways is so guardians who aren't powerful enough, skilled enough, or patient enough to harness their light into a foreign shape of their own design can at least start somewhere and grow their light in some kind of shape.
I bring this up because I'm writing lore for my own guardian, I have him use an Armorslayer in place of a burning maul, and a one handed axe in place of the hammer of Sol to add more expression and personality to him and his light. Please I'd like you to share your thoughts on this matter.

11 回覆Nothing Inherently wrong with the concept. The issue is only thematic. Saladin is a good example. He has a flaming axe instead of a maul. Same general theme, just tailored for him. That’s not a problem lore wise. Now if he had a version of GG, then yeah. I think the Ghosts are/were meant to act as limiters to our power. Ghaul would be a good example of the potential of Light without a limiter. No Guardian, in all of Destiny history and lore, did what Ghaul did. Become a hundreds foot tall entity of pure light. That to me was a major clue but some people scoff at the idea for some reason.

For example, Crow was never taught Golden Gun and can use it because it's already IN him as a hunter. It's why Hive Wizards use storm trance, knights have sentinel, shields, and acolytes use blade Barrage and were never taught those abilities. These ideas are instilled at the moment of resurrection. It's instinct. However, there are slight variations between Guardians and Hive and you could certainly have some minor behavior differences like a Dawnblade summoning a larger Greatsword for melee sword rush attacks or dual wield Golden Guns, kinda like how Burning Maul came after Hammer of Sol. It remains to be seen if there's an actual limit and if Guardians actively try to develop new techniques because Arc Staff did kind just come outta nowhere and they retconned it to have always existed.

1 回覆I've pointed out in the past that guardians are very dramatic as they don't need to forge weapons like hammers, guns, bows, swords, ect.. they could just literally point their finger and shoot elemental light. Side note: I'd love to see a cutscene were Marcus ren makes a finger gun and just goes pew, pew, pew rather than forge a golden gun.
