Listening to Saladin's dialogue throughout Season of the Chosen, is anyone else feeling a little...unsettled by Saladin's stance when it comes to the Cabal? Certainly, he has every reason to dislike the Cabal, after everything the various Legions have done to the Solar System and Humanity as a whole.
However, he's gone as far as to talk about eliminating the Cabal once and for all, he's being questioned by the other characters when they speak to him during the Battlegrounds dialogue. I just got a dialogue between him and Amanda about how the Guardians should start taking the fights to their enemies rather than waiting for them to come after them when talking about the Psion's attempt on Zavala's life. While Amanda asserts that Guardians guard, and are not invaders, Saladin states, and I'm paraphrasing, that it is perhaps time that changes.
Perhaps many will disagree, but it sounds like he's skirting dangerously close to the ideologies of the Darkness with his desire for a "no quarter" approach to dealing with the Cabal. With what we know of the Darkness' ideology, it'd probably appreciate the mentality Saladin is skirting towards. Something the Darkness or it's minions could take advantage of, if given the opportunity.

Saladin says the same thing that Ikora said when Cayde was killed He literally saw horrors I don't think he sleeps well or even sleeps that man was through a lot with the cabal so he can say whatever he wants I'm sorry for him

At this point, they either join up for the fight against the darkness or wipe them out. Too many attempts on us to keep letting them slide.

Uh no. I want to wipe the cabal from the universe. They are a menace, slavers, planet killers, genocidal space slugs.

We might be seeing how the Iron Lords approached situations through his dialogue. They modeled themselves after this idea of noble knights standing against the forces of evil. Hence the names and titles. But in practice medieval knights were anything but. The Iron Lords, in their hubris, sought to use and control SIVA against their enemies. Rasputin easily exploited this and ended them. They may not have had all the facts about what SIVA was but something tells me it wouldn’t of mattered. Or I could be overthinking this and Saladin is trying to compensate for his lack of action during the Red War. Or he could be secretly terrified of losing the Light again and is lashing out at the only group of aliens that have ever come close to stopping us (I don’t think he knows that some of the Nine helped).

I call that strategy, not darkness. The fact of the matter is, if we in the US knew x country was planning to attack US citizens, we'd level a military base in response. You don't voluntarily allow attacks on your own people.

Saladin is one of the oldest Guardians and part of the first risen team made to protect humanity. In essence he is the old guard and a puritan when it comes to being a guardian. He doesn't look at morality allignments like others but instead focuses on duty and code, he's just hard-core. I don't think he will turn dark, as he threatened us during season of the hunt IB that he would come after us if we turn bad.
