UPDATE: To clarify, I'm saying TURN OFF sunsetting for all weapons that have not already sunset from this season on. NOT un-sunset already sunset weapons like Mountaintop. Sunsetting is pointless from here on out, especially since the entire point of sunsetting was for Bungie to release POWERFUL weapons to replace those that were sunset, but those weapons would have a limited time to be used, and would then be replaced with equally powerful weapons to chase. But that's obviously not going to happen, so sunsetting is POINTLESS and WASTES ALL OUR TIME.
Fine. Okay. I understand some weapons HAD to go, which in the end, were just the pinnacle weapons, AKA Mountaintop and Recluse, etc. which were just so good, there was often little reason to use anything else. Okay, they're gone now. But now, STOP.
To continue weapon sunsetting from here on out serves no real purpose. NONE. If you feel a weapon is becoming overpowering, DISABLE IT, or TWEAK IT. But to make everyone's weapon's useless after a year is just wasting everyone's time. Nobody likes it. Nobody wanted it, and all you have to do is flip a switch and STOP weapons sunsetting that were acquired from S12 that were not already sunset.
Once again, not asking for you to un-sunset all weapons, like Mindbenders, just turn it off from here on out. I get it, D2 Beyond Light is essentially a soft-reboot, an easier way of doing a Destiny 3, fine. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Sunset is fine... most that stuff sitting in your vault for 5 years is useless anyways... Stop hoarding gear... you will feel better Keep up the good work Bungie!

Your likely gonna have to wait until at least witch queen for them to turn it off. Gotta add enough of a level difference so trying to use old things is completely useless not just mostly useless. It'll likely be like taken king, nothing old comes forward. Maybe even increase character level to leave the old behind even more.

have you seen Mtntop since the nerf? It is such a terrible excuse of a weapon now, even Fighting Lion does more damage. It didn't ruin PvE, it made it bearable and was a great reward for players who sunk in hours to complete then quest. It may have been cheesy for PC players, but it could have been dealt with very simply 1. greatly increase the amount of in-air bloom 2. reduce damage of spike nades against enemy guardians

Do you see how complicated it is to discuss this hot button topic I'm sure you've rewritten your argumentation a couple of times but you have to understand that even with the most well-intentioned argument is going to be met with a lot of blowback. I hope you see that although you tried, you're going to have a vocal minority tell you that they don't like how the system is run and they think that they know better. these clashes are going to happen until they understand that a looter shooter is always supposed to get you to chase the new stuff. Good luck because this is one rabbit hole that is difficult to dig yourself out of.

I deleted all my weapons just for you idiots to bring back old weapons just with a few perks and a different sunsetting date . This game is so bs now I give up . I’m not buying next years big update If your idea of sunsetting is making me grind for same weapons just with a new sunset date . Time for a new game

They won't. It's a Bungie specific arrogance that they have and once they go in a particular direction they'll never back down. It's just like in-game MM'ing, something almost everybody wants/wanted, but was never delivered save for strikes and some Crucible.
-
Or at least turn it off until Witch Queen hits and then we'll see this "supposed" new weapons like "recluse style" and more perks. But..... I dont see it happening and more and more players are going to mass exodus this game thats what needs to happen then and only then will Bungie actual listen and make things happen. Deja vu anyone?!

I've been following the trend here. And for the first time Kelly Green is right. Bungie will not revert or reverse their stance on this. Bungie made their bed and they are sleeping on it. I don't like what they did to this game. But no matter how loud we shout, they will not change. Kelly Green is correct. We should leave. Quit the game. If you can't, then stay. But if you can quit, then quit the game. They will not change. You can shout. Or you can shout and quit. If not, then keep playing. But you'll be disappointed. I chose to quit.

Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - 舊
It’s not so simple, some people deleted there sunset weapons ,if they ever reverse it the forums would still burn from those people I am saving mine for when the population gets low enough for Bungie to cave and reverse sunsetting, which is only a matter of time -
I feel like just asking people who were sick of using mountaintop to unequip mountaintop would be a better approach than sunsetting bullshit.

Even un-sunsetting would be fine imo. Pinnacles were a part of the reason for it but the larger reason was Bungie just not wanting to make new weapons and keep us grinding old ones. Did anyone actually try MT after beyond light or did u scrap it because it couldn’t reach relevant power? Cause I did just to see, and it felt awful. Recluse had already been nerfed and I’d left it behind before the expansion. Revoker could of been needed into the ground just like the last two. Truth be told Bungie could of solved the problem of a very small group of weapons the same way they always have by nerfing them into the ground making them unusable. It should be clear at this point with what we have seen and what we have been told, that sunsetting was mainly implemented to force players to increase grinding

They should just un-sunset all of the weapons entirely but only allow those Older weapons to be used during certain days of the week. Older weapons could be used on Friday-Monday or even Friday-Sunday while the New weapons are always available of course. New weapons would still see constant usage within the week and players could still use Older weapons for a few days every week. Basically just un-sunset all of the weapons but only allow those Older weapons to have certain days to be used, regardless of which days during the week. 3 or 4 days of availability every week would be better than nothing. Limited time is better than no time.

no no no I don't want to go back to the mountain top hell prior to beyond light no thanks
