Sunsetting gear and reissuing it right back does not sound like what some of us want.
I always knew that there were more people against sunsetting than for it. I am actually surprised on the 8% that voted for "always for sunsetting" even after seeing what a disaster its become. Activities rendered obsolete, loot pool is extremely shallow, all of the reissues, ect.
I get it if you are weak minded or have no self control and have to be told what weapons you can and cannot use like an addict that needs an intervention to quit using.
I like making my own choices. Play the way I want. When I get a new weapon and I like it, I use it over the old one but its my choice, nobody forces me. I also like having options.
Before the sunset I was regularly using 60 different weapons, now I use the same 8 weapons 90% of the time. I mean, I have less weapons now after all. Bungie sunsetted all the ones I was using
TL;DR If sunsetting gear is making locations and activities obsolete, maybe don't sunset that gear?

Sunsetting would work IF there's actually new weapons to use. Not just rerolling the exact same weapons for us to regrind for a new god roll again.
-
Everyone knows where this is going. "Everyone" will go for the option "never wanted sunsetting", while they call bungie stupid, smelly, and so on and so on. Its been like this since the idea was given. You act like people liked the idea at some point.

Where’s the “I’ve accepted sunsetting, it’s forcing me to try new weapons and I like it” option?🤷♀️
-
Somebody says it was a "small minority" lmfao. I was for it. Bungo has done it horribly. They are reissuing guns I still kept, that I'll need to regrind, with very little core modes left. Freaking ridiculous. We were promised powerful weapons to replace these since they weren't staying long. Lies. So far, a big dissapointment. One that I can't defend forever. No one can. Something needs to be done. It all boils down to how much more will people take?

Should be another option to be indifferent to sunsetting but it could be better. Sunsetting as a whole I don’t mind really, Reissuing imo is the problem. If they reissue weapons with the same perk pool then the older versions should get their cap raised too

I was mostly okay with sunsetting, and am still mostly okay with it. Finding a weapon roll for my particular weapons isn't terribly difficult, and there is enough rando drop events for getting armor rolls that I like, so sunsetting really hasn't affected me much... ...ASIDE from a specific issue with it that hasn't been addressed much; if they would just make the kill tracker tally remain with the weapon title, rather than the specific instance/roll of the weapon, I'd be so much happier with sunsetting. Case in point, I have a year 1 Forward Path that has 70k+ kills tracked on it, and when I get a new roll I don't mind using the new one, but I lose all my tracked kills with each new one. If they would just simply make the kill tracker be cumulative on all guns called "Forward Path" then my gripes will be settled.

What was wrong with nerfing the op weapons like always? Recluse needed dialed back, so did mt. It wouldn’t have been hard to change the meta with nerfs instead of just “you cant use that in leveled content anymore lmao get fkt”

You know my view was that sunsetting things like pinnacle weapons were good because they were literally must use weapons and to make them worse you either had to change it or introduce something even better. I do not think sunsetting things like moon and dreaming city weapons were a good thing. I also want people to remember there was sunsetting in d1 between years 1 and 2.

I went with the second option. Didn’t care at first but now I see the true horrors and how badly it was implemented. Yeah wendigo..... yeah mountain top and yeah not forgotten ect ect. But my small step? Tranquility ? Arc logic or retold tale ? You introduced (or reintroduced ) Felwinters a shotgun that is single handed taking a massive chunk of crucible kills but decided the retold tale isn’t? Or the 540 pulses or my triple tap genesis tango 45?

Never wanted it. Knew from the very start that Bungie would do exactly what they did. In fact, I thought that Bungie would "at least" take a while to reintroduce removed stuff or at least change the name of the weapons... Not a "Copy-Paste with an increased number" treatment.

I agree with every single word you wrote. The game has so many weak-minded addicts that just lick the boots and keep throwning money at Bungie, but clearly you see a lot of players are leaving, taking a break or playing way less, because of sunsetting and DCV. I always said I don't want the game to die and hoped Bungie would realise they were wrong. But the last TWAB showed me they really don't give a -blam!- anymore. They try to maintain Destiny as cost-efficient as possible with as less content as possible with as less development as possible. Destiny now is a hamsterwheel simulator. before that Destiny was more than a lootershooter, but it's not even that right now. And because of that I am not even mad if the game dies. I am not naive I know they don't revert things, and too many people are happy enough with throwing money at bungie and running in a hamsterwheel. But other players want some meaningful content from time to time and their time respected. We didn't even get one new adventure and not a single new PVP map since a year IIRC! And I doubt we will get any new PVP mode or PVE mode ever. The seasonal vip patrol with loading times is not content
Sunsetting gear and reissuing it right back does not sound like what some of us want.
Never wanted it. I thought it always sounded like a bad experience, and beyond that I lost blind faith in just assuming Bungie could pull it off. Maybe over time they can successfully evolve it into a system that works for more things than just devaluing playing the game to chase rolls. I never agreed the game needed it, I never bought the false justifications, and personally I play completely differently than I did this time last year because sunsetting is part of a lot of game systems that no longer reward investment.

Never wanted sunsetting, grudgingly accepted it Told myself Bungie had a reason for it But has they reissue more and more weapons,I am starting to think they didn’t look far enough ahead and didn’t have that much of a plan, and it’s blowing up there face -
The only thing that I'm ok with sunsetting is pinnacle weapons and turning them into exotics cause thats what they were.
