[spoiler] the first chapter to the tale of my guardian. Already posted it in d2, but tge first arc of this story does take place in d1, so i thought y not. Shout out to snowyheartMC for help and inspiration. Enjoy[/spoiler]I remember the day I was born... A cruel, painful awakening.... I remember it, the darkness enclosing around us... The feeling of my atoms being scrunched up and stretched out... The feeling of breaking out of my prision cell... Of staking through the dark, looking for my prey... A hunter in the night, getting ready to pounce... I took a life that day, enjoyed the feel of warm blood running down my hand... It was short lived... I was nothingness, then...I was awoken then... To faces I recognized, some more then others... One in particular, that should be dead, by my hand... She stares at me, the truth written all over her worried face... She remembered our little time together, but she didn't get to tell anyone by the time the wars came... Not by my hand this time, but I did fell many for the crow and ice-heart queen... But then there was peace, and I would die of bordom... But then I was given purpose, sent by ice-heart queen, to search for something... I went to earth, was flying lower then I should have... I saw a wall, old and broken, with remanets of humanity rusting under it's shadow... I saw ships of old, frozen in time, their passengers long since dead.... Then...Boom..... I was in a dark place then, a veiled women stood before me with outstreched hands. I reach for her, but dark becomes light, and I am jerked away from her... My lungs stinged, my body ached, my first thought was that I should be dead "Guardian.." I heared someone call out I turned on over, heaving, but nothing coming out, before I try to speak, but nothing comes, I hear the voice again, deep, low, but noneoftheless urgent sounding "Guardian?" I try to get up, only to catch myself on a old, rusted thing, with a long since picked clean skeleton inside, which I flinched from, before hearing the voice again "Eyes up Guardian!" I look up to see something floating in front of me, stending me aback a bit at the sight of it, but I held my balance. it had a arching crest shape on the top and bottom of it, with wires or pipes stickkng out of a few spots, made up of a dark purplish color, a shell of sorts around a sinlge blue eye. Bits and pieces of it twirled and moved as it spoke out. "it worked...you're alive" I tried speaking but still nothing came forth then a few wheezing like noises You don't know how long i've been looking for you" I try again to no vail, the thing before me only dialating it's eye and it's shell twisting and turning in some places "i'm a ghost..." It continued "actually now i'm your ghost, and you....well, you've been dead a long, long time. So you're most likely going to see a lot of things far beyond your level of understanding" Suddenly a long distance roar is heard, and ghost floats around in the direction of it "this is fallen territory. If you don't want to end up like you were before we better get you to the city" ghost said as he floated down the path ahead of us before turning back to me "why haven't you said anything yet?" I try once more to say something, anyghing but nothing comes through "hm..." Ghost floats up to me and a flash of light projects from his eye, hovering over my throat area "oh no..." He said after a tiny bit of rime passed "I managed to revive you but, for some reason I couldn't fully heal your vocal cords, their still heavily damaged from whatever took you out...I can't work on them here, let's get to safty first...hold still" he said as he floated in a circle before disappearing into thin air in front of me "don't worry, i'm still here. Get to that door in the wall over there, quick. I certainly didn't know what was going oh, but I'd rather listen to the ghost, then see whatever fallen made that roar. I ran for it full sprint, not stopping until I was inside, slaming the iron door behind me. I took a few gulps or air, before heading up the stairs. "alright...let's get you armed, before we have any bug company." Ghost said into my ear as I entered a open space, i walked to the other side along the railed path, when a beam of light came out of nowhere, i looked and saw ghost appeared again, creating the light from his eye. "quiet..." He said "they're all around us.." I moved forward to a turn, when something crawled passed a open chunk of the wall. We then enter a far larger spacd, but it's all dark, ghost floats out in ftont of me, the only source of illumination. "these's damn bugs thrive in places lile this, we don't unfortunately, let me see what I can do right quick." As he flies out some, revealing a fallen crawling on a red pipe "damn...harden militay junk, that and entropy are a real pain in the-" Before ghost could, finish lights started turning on before the entire place was lit up...only to reveal more fallen crawlihg about the pipes, a few floating robots following ghost as he was rushing back to me as he said "Shit!-they're coming for us!" Panicked a little i rushed over to where he was floating to, a mental door that began lifting, revealing a rifle against a white tabled, illuminated by a light in a corner. "there's a rifle! Let's hope you know how to use it" ghost said as I walked over to pick it up, when a suddenly a fallen dropped next to us, it was shorter then ger, and it held a weird looking wdapon thst it was getting ready to aim at me. I reacted on pure instincted, grabbing a rusted metal spike that layed against the old metal walls, quickly grabged the fallen by ghe side of the head, and drove the spike under it's chin. The fallen dropped tge weapon and started clawing and scratching at me, I put my hand under the spike and pushed it further in, a purpleish red liquid ran from the wound over my hand, warm, blood. The fallen did a final thrashing about, before startting to go limp, his breathing becoming labored, I looked into the four blue eyes of the creature, all I saw was fear, his breathing slowed more and more, as the life drained from those icy depths, I watch as the fallen dreg took it's last breath and died in my arms. "well shit..." Ghost cursed to himself at the sight. He couldn't see it, mainly because he was behind me and he had put a helment on me which I only now noticed, but I was smiling, grinning like a chester cat at what I just did, felt a exhiliration I know I haven't felt in a while. I wanted to feel it again, quickly. I was born a second time, this time as a hunter, living for the next life I took... My thirst given purpose, again after so long... I'll end up remembering everything, about the day I was born.... But first I have a lot of killing to do...
