They need to add Matchmaking for ALL activities before they can think about adding an option to disable and enable it.

What’s something you think needs matchmaking? Raids don’t, not everyone will have a mic/be willing to talk, there are douches(even in lfg) that just refuse to learn, and there is no way a matchmade raid group will succeed. Dungeons- eh, doable. Carries can happen, but if nobody knows what to do it’ll never get done anyways. Trials- that’d make the game mode even worse than it is. Name something other than impossible things that need matchmaking. Okay, okay, nightfalls. Those could work. But! There are GOING to be the people who queue up with no mods or underleveled. There are ways around that, ofc, but still a big hassle for bungie. -
This is just my opinion and it doesn't matter if you think something is hard or not. These activities should have matchmaking. 1 The Shattered Throne, Pit of Heresy, Prophecy 2. The legend nightfall 3. All activities for the seasons. They did it with the first one, Vex Offensive so I see no reason at all they had to stop doing it with the rest of the seasons. They even do it with season events, like the Haunted Forest and the Solstice of Heroes. 4. Heroic Menagerie 5. When creating things like EP, that should have been matchmaking and the activity should have been updated adding more challenges as you level up and rewards. So your opinion and what a lot of players would like to see are 2 different things. I get that Raids and Trials shouldn't be matchmaking, but everything else I mentioned should be optional matchmaking.
