[i]I walk along the road, looking at the area curiously.[/i] "This is one interesting area." [i]I look down the road, scanning for anything notable.[/i]

"None that we've been able to fine. The wards around the place are ancient and strong. It prevents any harm to the structure and keeps things from entering and leaving... the next new moon should rise a few days from now." [spoiler]...in game, atleast. In real life, it'll happen whenever I feel up to it. This is basically the end of part 1![/spoiler]

[spoiler]Chain 4![/spoiler] You travel up the mountain, the storm intensifying. Eventually, you see crumbling stone walls and a black iron gate ahead, along with another pair of guards! They see Kalia with you and allow you to pass into the camp within the mansions courtyard. ...then, you see a large pillar of blue flame ahead...

"I'm... not sure what that is..." Kalia says as she follows. You make your way through the camp of hide tents and fires to see a crowd of warriors cheering around a clearing. The tall pillar of blue fire is at the center of a large ritual circle, a pattern of bright red blood upon white snow. Three witches spaced evenly apart at the edges are chanting in a strange dialect of Elvish, each clutching a bloody dagger and a goblet. Beyond the flame, you can make out the mansion through the snow. Three stories tall, with towering gothic roof tops and spires, stained glass windows with a few cracks here and there, and two great doors covered in runes.

"Well yes, but the doors only open unde-" She is interrupted by a roar that echoes through the mountains as a massive demon emerges from the pillar of fire. Two horns curve out from a mane of blue flame upon its head, glaring with eyes that glow even brighter. It stands nearly fifteen feet tall with a muscular body covered in ice-like armor. A long tail lashes behind it, covered in icy spikes. The demon stretches its leathery wings as it lifts a massive, double headed greataxe coated in yet more blue flames, and glares at the nearest witch...

"We bind and summon you, fiend!" shouts one of the witches, "To break the seals on the great doors or reduce this cursed place to ash!" The demon bellows a laugh in response. "It sounds like we might have to..." Kalia grips her staff and takes a few steps back, "the fools should have known better." The demon then swings its axe and a wave of blue flame washes over the crowd!

"Dangit, burning things is my thing! I could go full power and possibly kill it, but I'd probably kill myself, shear the top of the mountain off if Nil didn't put wards on it, and kill everyone here. So that's not an option. You wanna go for a suicidal charge with swords and magic?"

"I don't..." Kalia stands, and looks around the carnage. A few of the warriors survived the wave. Some unloading on the Fiend with their rifles as a pair of vampires charge it. The rest start running away. "There, look!" Kalia points to the other witches behind the Fiend as they run to the effigies around the circle and kick them over. "Maybe disrupting the circle will banish it, so if nothing else a suicidal charge might be enough of a distraction for them to succeed!"

"Probably not fire or ice!" She shouts as she channels darkness. The Fiend shields itself from the bullets with its wing, then tosses a ball of blue flames at a group of gunners and slams its axe down upon one of the witches!

Kalia also releases a blast of shadow upon the fiend as its legs are constricted. He looks to you with a grin, then attempts to swat you out of the sky with his axe, using the momentum to try and free himself and swipe at the vampires with his tail! The remaining witch knocks over another effigy and orders the survivors to do the same! There are six more evenly spaced across the large circle!

It snarls and slams the of its axe into the ground, releasing a wave of flame around him that incinerates the remaining vampires and a few of the guards! Then the Fiend leaps into the air, flapping its massive wings! It brings its axe back with one hand as if to take another swing at you, but then quickly slashes at you with the claws of its other! Below, the remaining witch and two warriors rush for more of the effigies and Kalia holds her hand towards the Fiend, chanting.

The Fiend spins to block the blasts with its wings, then attempts to swing at you again, but wisps of shadows surround it and it begins to fall! You see Kalia clutching her staff below, exhausted, but smiling wickedly. The last witch and warriors reach three more effigies and destroy them!
