Hey all,
Was looking for something diffrent to play than a shooter or hack and slash ARPG and was curious about No Mans Sky.
I know all about the history of the launch and I also know that with all the updates for 3+ years that the game became a lot better.
I watched some gameplay today and it seemed interesting. I thought I would look into some more and noticed that the game is still around $50 range. I'm not sure atm if I'm willing to take a risk on this game for that price.
My questions...
1) would you consider this a grindy game that gets boring fast?
2) where the game is now, is it worth the $50 investment?
3) where you apprehensive like me and not sure about it, but jumped in anyway and ended up liking it, or hating it?
Just looking for some opinions. Lately I've been bored of gaming and just don't feel like anything looks good. I'm more of a loot shooter/hack & slash fan that's not real big on story driven games, but like I mentioned, looking for a little variety I guess.
Thanks for reading, have a great weekend!

1. Yes and no. It does get boring eventually, but your first 10-15 hours are pretty fun. It’s a sandbox video game. 2. Not really. More of a 30-40 dollar game, but that’s how much most games should be IMO. 3. Saw it at game stop before I stopped going. It was about 15 dollars so I bought it. If it was bad, I’m only 15 dollars down. If it’s good, I got it for 15 dollars. If it was just fine, I again say 15 dollars.

由Seraph編輯: 4/26/2020 3:18:44 PMI bought it at launch, and I did not like it. I am aware of the fact that there have been a lot of quality of life improvements over the years, but at the end of the day, I’m not a fan of resource management games, and I wasn’t enjoying the core core gameplay loop.

If you want a fresh new gameplay experience, try the Gravity Rush games. Gameplay isn’t very complex, but it’s very different and IMO enjoyable. The world is interesting and the story is pretty good. Most of the story is text though, kinda like a comic book. I got really tired of the same old standard AAA open world or FPS and the games were a nice pallet cleanser. There’s also the Nioh games. They’re Japanese Dark Souls with Borderlands style loot. Lots of drops, but the good stuff is more rare. Personally, I don’t think it works well with the Souls-like formula because it takes away a lot of the skill involved, but that’s just my opinion.

It is a very good game. You can easily sink hundreds of hours into it. That said, I'm not sure if it's worth 50 dollars.

I wouldn't advise it. Especially not for that price. It looks like they've added a lot, but it's still the same shallow, tedious experience it always was. See if you can't get Astroneer instead, it's a bit more interesting.
