Idea/Thoery on how Bungie can improve the Trials/D2 PvP meta

Hush recently put out a video talking about the state of the game, and in it he said something about how Destiny 2's meta is just too crazy and because of thjs Trials is suffering from a lack of variation between it and the regular Elimintation. As it seems to me the only way to fix this problem would be to remove certain items or nerf them into the ground so that they would be invalid options. However, not only would this upset a lot of people, Bungie has shown no intention of doing this. As a result, what we see in Trials is cheesy loadouts that end up turning this beloved activity into an Elimination clone with no variation between the two. The only difference is that instead of Shaxx screaming at us we have Saint-14 screaming at us. My theory on how to fix this would be a kind of equipment lockout system specific to Trials. Example: Week 1:Exotic A, Legendary Weapon A, and Legendary Armor A are disabled in Trials for the week Week 2:E B, LW B, and LA B are disabled in Trials for the week Week 3:E C, LW C, and LA C are disabled in Trials for the week Week 4:(you get the point) Now, I'm just spitballing here, and I'd like to provide where I got this idea from. When I'm not smashing in the skull of a Captain with my Hanner of Sol, I like to watch the Overwatch League (go Philly Fusion!). Something the League has implemented is a kind of Hero Pool rotation similar to what I have just described. At the beginning of every week, they randomly pick 4 heroes, and those 4 heroes are unplayable during the matches that occur that week. What this Hero Pool does is it forces teams to adapt to a situation were the heroes at their disposal might not suit the current meta, but they have to find a way to make them work. It keeps the meta fresh, and the games interesting so that we dont see the same strategies being used match after match after match. Granted, Overwatch is VERY different from Destiny, but I believe that with the right push, Bungie could implement an Equipment Pool/Equipment Lockout system similar to what the OWL has done to breathe some more variation into Trials so that it isnt just an Elimination clone. There is probably a better way to implement this and I'm curious on what you guys think. I really just needed to get this idea out of my head.
