You literally can’t mathematically reach 960 base with the current system by the end of the season, it’s like nobody at Bungie does math, ever.
I would be okay with each Pinnacle drop dropping at +2 of your base, AND increasing the sources by maybe five more each week, but since the “hardcore raiders” are going to lose their minds over this then I’m fine with one or the other, either way something needs to be fixed.
EDIT: Here’s some suggestions the community and comments are throwing around:
•Valor/Infamy Rank Resets should always reward pinnacles.
•Exotic World Drops should always reward pinnacle gear.
•Perhaps make a legacy raid reward pinnacle, and rotate it weekly, from Leviathan to Crown of Sorrow

This is good feedback. The team is aware of this issue and currently looking into improving the pinnacle power progression experience.

Its an easy fix. All pinicale can only drop in each slot once and all powerful gear then can drop at that level. For eample you get a helmet at 951 but run out of time for anymore pinicale gear, but have enough to get a powerful drop well that can only give you another helmet. If you had all the armor set at 951 and no weapons then it only gives you the armor at 951 cannot drop a weapon at 950 as its a powerful drop. This is the solution weather you can code that to be correct. I wish you luck.

I have almost every exotic, and now you're trying to force me to do hours worth of raids and extremely hard nightfalls for drops that are 1 lvl higher than my current light? That's madness.

I just logged in, looked at all the tower vendors and their "legendary rewards", and said there's no need to even play. Yes I know pinnacle rewards are the only way to level up after 950, but everything else seems so bland now.

It's rubbish that Pinnacle gear is +1. More so that you have to luck out and acquire each piece before hitting 951 and moving onto 952, rinse and repeat all the way to 960. I know we got lucky Iron Banner as we were suppose to only have 4 bounties for the week but on 2 of my 3 characters I was only able to obtain 2 pieces of Armor. The rest were all weapons at 951. It's also incredibly annoying having 3 blues constantly dropping because we're not at hard cap. Honestly, I'd rather not grind another 50+ levels every 3 months like last year. It gets old going through that artificial grind so often. Though surely that's the plan again. Always finding ways to make us level up, grind old gear, etc. I just want some fresh content to play along with a reason to continue playing old content other than Raids. Back on topic. Personally I say do level increases every Fall expansion or even every 6 months. You don't see an MMORPG bump the level cap every 3 months. I'm not sure how much work they need to do with constantly boosting our level but it's an artificial grind that's not necessary so often. And if it's requiring development time it's wasted time that could be spent on balancing, bugs, new content or upgrading old content to be more meaningful. Instead of artificial play time via level grinding work on some content to keep us engaged. Alongside new content find ways to utilize old content, refresh, add to, give players a reason to go back. side note: I think the Chalice and Menagerie were excellent features. Allowing us to claim what we need or want. As an experience though it could have provided more rooms or a rotation of a few more bosses imo. overall it was a great addition to the game in so many ways. Personally I'd love to see more content like this alongside the new formats, new Raids, Dungeons, Strikes, Crucible Maps, etc. Maybe even an upgrade to the Forge where new weapons are added along with armor bounties. The Vex Offensive is ok but being a static 3 tier with the same boss just feels lackluster. After 1 or 2 weeks running it I really don't care to anymore though I will likely chase some Triumphs and continue playing it before seasons end.

Personally, I thought once you hit 950, almost all milestones turn to pinnacle rewards. Or at least that's what I would of liked it to be. Or at least , have half of our rewards to have a good chance to give us a pinnacle. On top of that why isnt exotics getting this treatment? The only exotics I've gotten since last season are the through the season pass. So exotics are like not even in the game. That's not what we asked you bungie to turn exotics too. Let them drop through any activity after a certain amount of kills or something. Theres no reason why I go a whole month without a single exotic. But anyways, since they are so super duper rare now, they should def drop 1 to 3 lvls above 950 and that should be 1 of the sources for our pinnacle rewards

I’m not bothered by it. Though I will say the Iron Banner bounty rewards seemed to only have a chance of being pinnacle. I had already been getting 950 drops and got a 951 reward from Ikora. All but one of my IB “pinnacle” engrams were 950. One of them was 951. If it is like that for Raid and 100k nightfall rewards too, I’m sure it will take forever to hit 960 base power.

The pinnacle power cap is meant to be reached throughout multiple seasons, not within 2 weeks of the first expansion. Calm your tits and enjoy the game. If you want power level that's what the artifact is for.

Nope, just play the game. Many players have been playing this game as it should be, they are well beyond the 950/960. You just got to git gud and of you want to power level, then play what is supporting it. You can’t get the milk, milk money, and milkery.

Honestly, I've had 42 pinnacle drops. 42. And can I get any single character to 951? Nope. 5 chests, 467 special weapons and a mental aneurysm later, I'm still stuck with my finger up my own arsehole waiting for rng to bless me with the correct 12.5% drop to continue any power progression beyond artifact grind. Just did a master nightmare while at 964, gives me another primary. Feeling massively unjustifiable to continue tbh.

And here I was warming up to the idea being tossed around that we were going to a permanent endgame with 951-960 to be obtained over several seasons. If there is a 50 power level bump the next season is there any reason to get to 960? A good friend of mine quit Destiny because of the continual power bumps. He wanted a permanent endgame.

Hopefully whoever does today's TWAB will mention they are looking at this AND acknowledging that it is an issue. Keep in mind Modern Warfare comes out tomorrow, Outer Worlds, Death Stranding, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to name a few come out later. With so few pinnacles, the +1 they give, plus the RnG, it will turn a lot of people away. And they obviously have other games to turn too. Usually, I look forward to reset, but with only ONE option of rewards to progress, it's not worth it. Vex Offensive is pointless if you're at the 950 cap. All the Nightmare Hunts are pointless. 100K NF is pointless is you get something at 951 that you already have at 951 from the raid or NF. All milestones are pointless after 950. Making the game and progression pointless. Not that many people raid either. It's hard to find a team and a friend of mine who does raid says it's still drops at 951. Once again...pointless. Shadowkeep was cool up until now Bungo, please do something! We all want to play...and have fun at the same time. -

I’m ok with not hitting the cap as it’s almost impossible currently. Raids and activities are basically capped at 950/960 anyway (from my limited understanding)
