No matter how loudly and bravely we sing... It is just a shell of what it was, nothing changes or matters.
No matter how politely or brightly we ask for changes they bear no fruit.
We all are living under a salt mine that has no end nor salt.
I just look at the glory days and notice how small we are: https://www.tiki-toki.com/timeline/entry/11025/History-of-The-Flood/
We will never reach this greatness. Bungie has sterilized our numbers, and it's they who exterminated the glorious Flood.
I am done. I am going to get something from Amazon.... Bye.....

I dunno, I didn't really start coming here until just before D1 released (bar the odd visit on b.old) and both #offtopic and #gaming were jumping. Numbers swelled as more and more people got disillusioned with destiny. Loads of people got banned during forum wars but jumped on alts, then I saw it slowly die off as bungie moved away from yahoo and Hotmail verification until only XBL and PSN were left. More people got banned for using the term desticle cos apparently it's derogatory, despite there being a nickname for all the previous generations of b.net users (threetard for H3 etc). Mods had largely left #offtopic alone for the first year or two after D1 launched, but suddenly they took an interest and banned people for things that had been part of the culture since at least I had joined ie "rule 34" and "op is fgt", and certainly part of online culture for a decade previously. I think a lot of people used #offtopic as an escape and a place to chill on the edge of what's considered socially acceptable, and bungo wanted a more family friendly forum for their new game but in making it so they destroyed everything that made the forums the forums. I stopped coming here around the time kings fall hard raid dropped cos the flood were gone and the forums were stagnating. The few times I've been back since haven't changed my mind on anything. It's a shame, I had a lot of fond memories of what this place used to be.

it just depends on who you ask, i think its gotten better and worse over the years, nothing feels original really its just shit posts and rehashed ideas, but when it was politico n lincolns alts that was aids. just everyone moved on and ninjas -blam!-ed over everyone n bungie really did a number when you couldnt talk on forums w out buying destiny if i remember right.

Honestly, the days leading up to B.next were also pretty quiet. More active than now I suppose, especially since groups were still viable, but not as fast as one may think. A small community isn't entirely a bad thing. The #Destiny forums serves their purpose well- the toxicity is contained and hardly ever truly leaks into this forum. And when it does leak... Well, this forum is united in dealing with it.
