I just reached 700 yesterday, phew. Along the way I had a many powerful gear drops that just weren't powerful. Especially after 680 and even worse after 690 it seemed. A few days ago when my best heavy was 697 and my max light was 698 I had two exotic heavy drops at 698. Not to mention many powerful gear drops that were either the same as my max level or less. I am sure there is something I don't understand about the leveling system seeing as I don't always have time to study Destiny 2 which is almost like a 3 credit college course. I feel like exotics shouldn't drop the way they did for me that day. Powerful gear should be powerful. Along the way it seemed like Prime Engrams were my best bet for efficient leveling.
