Bungie had the right idea, hear me out

So I'm scrolling though the forums and I see a lot of people complaining about the crucible being in a "PVE" quest. I don't usually speak on here but I felt that I should give my input on this. I think Bungie was just trying to have the community do everything the game has to offer. I enjoy playing PVE and PVP and thought this was great because it had me going back and forth between the two. In my opinion the grind is worth it because the armor looks pretty good and its at 400 (405 with mods) power. It'll get everyone ready for the next update which has a big power jump; and with a month to do it, it seems reasonable. I just think everyone should stop stressing about it and take their time. Everyone does things at their own pace. I know 405 looks good, but we have a month to do it. I would love to hear other peoples opinions on this, please speak out.

Don't advertise an event for all players when you've got like three different archetypes of players and subtiers of those three archetypes. You've got: -Pvp Players -Pve Players -PvEvP players (they do both) In each category, you've got your diehard players who do every part of pvp, pve or both. You've got your people who only do on (quickplay, comp or Trials), (Never raid or always raiding) Don't advertise something as for everyone, so that people don't get the wrong idea. Let them know they'll have to do both for a set of armor only useful in pve or for looks. It's not that hard.

    • As someone that has no plans on completing the armor due to some of the requirements needed, I have no problems with Bungie trying to include all the activities that the game has to offer. It is up to the player to determine if they truly want the items offered or not. This is not new to an activity such as SoH. With all prior Moments of Triumph in Destiny all had components that had the players doing PvP along side PvE. Year 1 MoT - Win 100 Crucible Matches. Year 2 MoT - Complete the Mountaintop quest for Crucible ( which in-turn had its own set of PvP related quests and numerous ones at that) Year 3 MoT (Rise of Iron) - Had a whole page dedicated to Crucible Year 3 Age of Triumph - boy.. where to start on this one.. Each class had their own Crucible related items and then there were the individual Crucible and Trials of Osiris pages Of course there were also the various exotic bounties (Year 1) and quests (year 2 / 3) that required doing PvP at some point (I'm looking at you Thorn and City Factions) Bottom line is if a player wants the item offered as the reward, then they'll have to take part in an activity even if they dislike it. I have no desire for the armor due to various reason, which does include doing PvP, but I'm not going to complain about it since it is my own choice and not "Bungie is forcing me to do it"

I enjoy doing both. I'm mainly a PvEr but I dabble in PvP every now and then because its a fun thing to do. That's pretty much it. Plain and simple fun! So I don't mind doing the objectives for PvP on the Solstice armor!

      • As a filthy casual who doesn't do PvP unless there's an event, I don't understand the crying about having to do a small bit of PvP. Just be glad it's not Trials, lol.

See the problem is you are only gonna get like 3 or 4 super kills per match (unless you are a OP Arc Hunter using staff) so that is gonna be a long grind on top of the fact you are most likely gonna go up against trashy meta sheep using GL or VW or a stacked team that has clans in them be it 3 or 4 players in the same group or all 6 OR worst case a stacked team filled with a clan in the same group ALL using GL or VW. That is most likely the reason players do not like the PvP tie in due to poor matchmaking and weapon balancing and it is so bad die hard PvP players are swearing off Crucible cause even they can't stand this sh*t any more.

        • Why do players need to be at 400 for the next dlc? I didn't buy D1 until it was in the Taken King bundle and I had no problem at all progressing through the game from zero.

          • Exactly. I don’t like pvp but I don’t mind playing a bit to get the armor set. And a month is plenty of time to grind this out. Heck I already almost have the 400 set on one character, and I only play a couple hours a night.

          • I think more players would have less of a problem with the PvP aspect if Bungie would fix the bug that came in the last update which disabled Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) and (CBMM) in Quickplay. Since this is the playlist where generally less skilled pvp players go to play PvP and now they are being matched into games that are both laggy and with opponents of much greater skill; well let’s just say that many of them do not appreciate being stomped . This is creating the feeling that Bungie is requiring that they go through this being stomped on process to be be able to progress through SoH. So as you might imagine, players are not very happy with this and Bungie’s current attitude that they are not going to fix this but wait for the community’s reaction. What you are seeing then is some of the feedback that Bungie is looking for. It might be a lot different if Bungie restored QP to the way it was before the bugs were introduced.

          • Totally agree. Any game that offers multiple modes will also have mechanics that encourage players to engage in all those modes. It shouldn't be any surprise that Destiny does this.
