We didn't kill the Consul, Ghaul killed him. And we technically didn't kill Ghaul either, the Traveler did.

We killed ghaul, but he resurrected in pure energy. That's when the traveler took his power away killing him for good

Like the common narrative of all of destiny, our Guardian is special. Like you said, we defeated Ghaul, something Calus' previous champions proved unable to do. We defeated Atheon and Crota when other guardians failed too. And Oryx, Skolas, and Aksis. Our guardian is by default, will always be the most badass of all the badasses :)

Besides the vault of glass our guardians had help with the other raids, information something that the ones before us did not so they didn't know what they were walking into.

In the Vault of Glass, when we get the buff for the Aetheon fight that's every player guardian in existence shooting him due to time powers of the vex, so it takes all of us to defeat aetheon while it takes 6 to kill everything else
