I think abortion should be legal up until the point that the fetus is likely to survive outside the womb. Someone wanting to stop an abortion after that point would have to file a civil suit & legally adopt the baby once its born.

A artificial womb would be way in which a fetus can survive outside of the womb pretty much immediately. The current standard of viability at 24 weeks was not always the standard. Originally it was most typically legal to abort up to the third trimester, but medical advancements cause a number of states to roll that back. If you are putting the point at which it's okay to terminate a life at viability of the fetus (i.e. it survives outside of the womb) either that determination is informed by medical science and would shift as methods of sustaining a fetus advance. Or you are just picking an arbitrary point at which it's okay to kill someone.

I already covered that in my 2nd sentence. Anyone would be able to file a lawsuit against someone that wants to get an abortion after viability, but the suit requires that the plaintiff adopts the baby once it's born. The abortion would be civilly illegal, but not criminally.
