To start there is no reason for the cabal to make another star in our solar system. Why would they bother. All it would do is mess up the orbits of the planets. To build on that if they did make a second star and it messed up the orbits of the planets which it probably would. It would most likely pull earth out of the habitable zone in our solar system. Earth never received the traveler's special terraforming because it was already habitable (common sense) so it would then be uninhabitable. Could guardians still survive there? Most likely. Could all of those refugees on the farm survive? Definition not. They would freeze to death or burn to death. Besides that in the trailer that shows the device after showing the device it than immediate shows a star exploding. This implies that the device destroys stars. Probably their way of destroying solar systems by rendering all planets uninhabitable. It could be the scene of a star exploding is a little simulation of the results if they succeed or a former event. Than they try to do it to us so we try to stop it. I doubt it builds stars. Because again, why would they bother? All it would do is take up resources.

 • Well there definitely are two stars. Just look at this shot from the gameplay reveal. http://imgur.com/DPmieEg

 • That could be anything. It could be Jupiter, Saturn, Or some vex space crap. Also those two lights don't quite look like stars. For one they are irregular. They aren't perfect circles like the sun is. Also if one of them was the sun than it would be a lot smaller. They look about the same size as the sun when you look at it on earth. Now Jupiter is much farther away from the sun that earth is. So the sun would be tiny. Also if I accidentally confused which planet it is it doesn't matter. Titan and Nessus are both farther away from the sun than Io is.

 • This image shows guardians looking at the same 2 objects with the same configuration. It is much clearer that they are 2 stars interacting with one another. If those aren't stars what are they?

 • That second pic looks even less like stars than the first, for all we know that could be the Dreadnaught burning up into pieces in the atmosphere somewhere. And just a nitpick, but those guardians are doing the exact opposite of looking at them, as you can clearly see they are facing the camera with the light hitting their backs, but I digress that's not really important. Overall though, I find it incredibly unlikely that they would build a star, as it really wouldn't serve any purpose. Why would they need it? Clearly not to power anything, if they can break down a planet into a star they'd obviously have all the power they need. Definitely not as a weapon, because again, if they can already atomize a planet they don't need an artificial sun to do it. Also, Space Magic aside, if the Cabal blowing the Dreadnaught core would wipe out our solar system in game, then they at least have the physics of blowing up a moon sized object correct in universe. So "building" or "tearing" our sun would presumably have immediate adverse effect that I doubt even Bungie would brush off as "nah, because Destiny, man!" We'll have to wait and see I guess, but for my vote it's a no.
