*a Wild Gringo has appeared*
Possible spoiler warning. What I am saying is speculation but well supported. What I say in this post may be simply a plot point of Destiny 2 or a huge twist. Consider yourself warned. I apologize for the questionably spoilerish title, but anybody who bothered to watch the gameplay trailer would know the Cabal are doing something with a star. Oh and also what I am getting, mostly images, are from official sources. I will not go through the effort of sourcing each, but if you request I will give the source.
So one of the larger parts of the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal was a Cabal device doing something to what appeared to be our sun, which I will refer to as Sol for convince's sake. This trailer then cuts to what appears to be Sol blowing up, taking a planetoid with it. Many have theorized it is a Cabal weapon that was used to destroy Sol. In this post, I will defend my claim that that star is not even Sol, but that the Cabal have created their own star in our Solar System. It may sound crazy, but I think I can convince you.
The first and most obvious piece of evidence would be this image of 3 Guardians staring at 2 stars. There is very little to refute the fact that these guardians are staring at 2 stars, which are assumably within our system. It could be said that this is anything from something exploding near sol to a Guardian vision of some other world to another system (the latter I find the least likely as Destiny has always been confined within our Solar System and Bungie hasn't said a peep about going to other systems.
The next piece of evidence harkens back to this image. To go further into depth, the clip shows rocks floating into the vast device, and coming out as a beam of energy. To the left appears to be the planetoid where the rocks are coming from. There has been a lot of question about this but I think it is actually a device used to create a star. This is further reinforced by this image, which shows assumably the same planetoid being ripped apart by some unseen force. I would venture that it is being torn apart by the Cabal's lovely star builder hidden between the planet and the star. As for the logistics of this, I think it makes perfect sense. If you were to build a star, you need a lot of energy. And e=mc^2 so a planet's worth of mass converted to energy is probably enough to get you a star, if a little smaller than Sol.
This device seems quite important, as there has been no shortage of footage from it even though it is not an explorable world. Some of them you can even see the huge blue beam coming off of it.

One last thing to note is the probability of it. The idea of building a star may sound improbably, even for Destiny, but remember that the Cabal "blow up planets just for getting in their way." How far off is it that they could also build a star with their immense power?
I hope I have convinced you that the Red Legion have created a star using the corpse of a dead planet. If you do not agree, please share what you think this machine is doing and what those 2 stars are. I am curious. If you agree with me, share why you think the Cabal would want to build a star when they already have a perfectly good one, Sol? Whatever reason it must be very important. And please check out my lore clan, The Ashen Conflux. We discuss this kind of stuff constantly so if you are interested, check it out.
Thanks for your time.
Oh and here's a link to a similar post I found which basically says the same thing but that Sol is used to make Mercury into a Star and not a planetoid is used to make a star. Worth a read. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/227186336/0/0
If this is true than which planet did the cabal destroy to create said star? I hope it's not earth
-
Just logically thinking, but if they exploded our sun, then wouldn't all life on Earth die, or at least all non-guardians?
-
Not disproving your theory or anything but the 2 stars could be the stars from our neighboring system and this system has 2 stars at it's center
forgive me I can't remember what it's called
Perhaps that could be the stars at question. But I doubt any of what I just said is true because I HIGHLY doubt that bungie is gonna take us to other systems

由kn1ne編輯: 5/24/2017 3:35:06 AMHere's another image from the strike where you can see the 2 suns Also the planet in question is most likely Mercury. Bye bye Lighthouse.

Maybe it's just the leftovers from the explosion. I thought it was a Vex Construct near the Sun. I had thought that the Cabal found out that the Vex were gonna try and make a Binary System out of our Solar system. So, the Cabal tryed to Stop the Vex. We also got a lead about it. That's why we fight Cabal on what I presume to be Sol. The reason why the Cabal don't want the Vex to create a Binary System is because... Well... To put it simply... It would be Catastrophic. The orbits, Gravitys, basically all the qualities of the planets would be destroyed. It would destroy the Traveler. The one thing the Cabal came for. But hey, that's just a theory, a GAY THEORY.... I MEAN GAME THEORY.

In that image of the two guardians "staring at the two stars" it looks to me like it is our sun recently torn in half as there are trails of fire behind each thing, as if they were quickly driven apart

To start there is no reason for the cabal to make another star in our solar system. Why would they bother. All it would do is mess up the orbits of the planets. To build on that if they did make a second star and it messed up the orbits of the planets which it probably would. It would most likely pull earth out of the habitable zone in our solar system. Earth never received the traveler's special terraforming because it was already habitable (common sense) so it would then be uninhabitable. Could guardians still survive there? Most likely. Could all of those refugees on the farm survive? Definition not. They would freeze to death or burn to death. Besides that in the trailer that shows the device after showing the device it than immediate shows a star exploding. This implies that the device destroys stars. Probably their way of destroying solar systems by rendering all planets uninhabitable. It could be the scene of a star exploding is a little simulation of the results if they succeed or a former event. Than they try to do it to us so we try to stop it. I doubt it builds stars. Because again, why would they bother? All it would do is take up resources.

One slight problem. Where does the mass for this star come from? Our own star comprises something like 97% of the solar system mass, Jupiter about 1 or 2%. Leaving just over 1% for all the other planets and rocks. Saying a planet has enough energy to create a star because of E=MC2 is just plain wrong. Ok you could create an explosion with a huge output IF you could convert all it's mass to energy but that would be incredibly brief. For it to be a star it would have be undergoing fusion which means it needs an abundance of hydrgen (1st stage for a star) it has to be enough to for gravity to cause the atoms to undergo fusion converting hydrogen into helium(I'm sure that someone has worked out the minimum mass needed for an m class star but I don't know what it is). Our sun goes through 600000000 tons of Hydrogen every second. It's simply not possible to create a star from a planet or moon. Not only do they lack the mass but also the correct elements.

The cabal think that the Light we refer to is actual, they are turning the traveler into its essence. Light. A world without Light

由NeonPropose編輯: 5/22/2017 8:38:12 PMWhose to say that this even happens. Think, the vex have the ability to show visions of the past and future, and if certain statements are to be believed Failsafe the AI shown in the strike from the gameplay reveal is from Nessus (I could be wrong) it could activate a way to show us this scene of the future and give us more reason to stop them... you know other than the fact they destroyed our loot. Just a thought.

Do you guys know what would happen if our sun exploded? C'mon people. Let's not go off the deep end with speculation.
-
Maybe they just kind of split the star into 2 equal stars, so that neither pulls the other into each other because 1 would have a stronger gravity. This might also cause the swirling effect of them going around each other shown in the image of the 3 guardians looking at the 2 stars. The "star maker" as you described it could maybe just strengthen or weaken stars also to suit a solar systems ability to be colonized by the cable once taken. This would make it much similar to solar system to there's assuming they have double strong stared system
-
Possible the cabal didn't destroy sol, just blew it up in some way, but not with full effect. If you look at the picture of the 3 guardians and what looks two stars, it looks like the second smaller star could of broken off of the sun. Both stars have whispy trails coming out of them, which sort of connect up with one another, and kind of looks like what happens whenever you break anything circular in half, it will have part of the other part on it. perhaps whatever that device is, which really looks more hive like than cabal, may of been an attempt to destroy the sun, but it failed, only splitting it in half. And it would also make more sense that it is the hive because they really don't like light very much. If you really look at the design of it, it is similar to parts of the dreadnaught and architecture in the hell mouth.

Interesting. I wasn't sure what was going on when I first saw it on the trailer. Do you guys think this device is a Cabal technology though? Like the device they use to cage the Traveler. This somehow puzzles me because in the trailer all cabal ships moving steams a lot while the device which seems ways bigger than any of the ships doesn't emit any sort of smoke. Either way it doesn't look like Cabal design to me. Could it be a Traveler technology?

Maybe the cage on the traveler created the star. Maybe we hijack the cage off the traveler and use it against the cabal destroying their second sun. The moon could be their main base where Gary is. We chase him off the moon before it's destroyed and the raid leads into his ship
