This post is the second part of my Hive series, and was originally part of one larger post that was too big to fit all of the information. A link to the first will be placed at the end
Sects:
The Hive are organized in sects or groups based off of their purpose and who's spawn they are.
The Hidden Swarm: offspring of Crota and Omnigul located on both the Earth and the Moon.
On Earth they can be found breeding underneath the surface. These Hive came to our world from the Moon on Seeders and seek to multiply and conquer the planet, waiting for Crota to come and lead them.
Those on the Moon are found on its surface, preventing anything from entering the temples and passages down below.
Bear garb and bone of red and white coloration.
Spawn of Crota: the brood of Crota and Omnigul that populate the interior of the Moon as well as Crota's Throne and act as destroyers of the Light in Crota's name. These Hive have burrowed an endless labyrinth of chambers and tunnels into the Moon. They raise abominations under the Moon's surface and perform many rituals with the goal of silencing the Light.
Bear garb and bone of a golden yellow coloration.
The Blood of Oryx: being of Oryx's brood, these Hive are amongst the most intelligent and powerful of their kind from their years of war and journeying. They directly perform Oryx's will and populate his Dreadnaught.
Also encountered on Earth at Skywatch. Bear garb and bone of some kind of dark brown/black coloration.
Cult of the Worm: Hive imprisoned in the Prison of Elders formed a sect called the Cult of the Worm, which seeks to escape their cage and slay the Awoken that hold them there. It's just a bonus that they get a chance to snuff out a Light when a Guardian enters the Prison seeking glory. The Worm Keepers, who created Gulrot, are amongst their numbers.
Silent Brood: this sect dwells in the dungeons of the Dreadnaught, keeping watch over all the Hive Oryx has deemed worth locking up over the years. Their top priority is guarding the Sunless Cell, and I can only assume they are more prepared to keep anything from getting out than from getting in (albeit with the Hive, they must always be ready to keep anything from entering as well).
Bear cloth and bone of blue coloration.
Venom of Oryx: only encountered once so far (in the Sleeper Simulant quest), the unit we faced from this force consisted of solely Knights and Taken Knights. It is plausible to assume that they are similar to a special ops unit, and that they are sent to perform tasks of special importance outside of the Dreadnaught. This would explain their rarity and composition of only high-class Hive.
Bear cloth and bone of teal coloration.
Arsenal:
Shredders: guns wielded by the Hive that fire bolts of Void energy. No discernible firing mechanism can be found in this arcane weapon.
Boomers: bigger guns of the Hive that fire large, arching blasts of rock-melting Arc energy thought to be the energy of a dead celestial body.
Cleavers: the original weapon of the Hive as well as the most basic and defining. Cleavers are made of bone and metal and are the base conduit for sword logic. They connect one with their opponent and the power of the kill flows through them. The blade is kept sharp by the logic of its kills and grows more powerful just like the Hive that wields it, allowing those Hive that grow strong enough to create Tears once they become Ascendant. Despite their massive size and weight, these swords swing with ease as if seeking their next victim.
Runes and incantations: "Small minds might call it magic". The Hive draw upon and attack with the power of the Darkness through their sorcerers, allowing anything from poisonous gas to blasts of Arc energy to appear out of thin air and harm an opponent. Even singing can be a weapon for the Hive.
Rather than defining this as magic, it's more accurate to say it's something along the lines of the science of creating a gateway for energy to pass through from another location.
Shriekers: arcane sentinels made by the Hive to safeguard ritual sites. Not alive or mechanical, they are held together by Void charges that seek vengeance on its destroyer when the Shriekers is broken.
Tomb Ships: Hive vehicles that glide through the air and move from one location to another instantaneously through Tears, transporting troops to new locations.
War Moons: the shells of moons conquered by the Hive that have been hollowed out by their tunneling and are now the breeding grounds and star craft of massive broods. Somehow the Hive have managed to make these moons able to travel through space like ships and use them to travel from one world to the next.
Dreadnaughts: massive warships of the Hive built in substitution of War Moons by Oryx's spawn. These vehicles hold massive amounts of troops and other Hive resources, carrying the Hive across the stars from one system to the next. The pinnacle of these vehicles is Oryx's Dreadnaught, easily dwarfing the others in size and being synonymous with Oryx's throne.

Do the hive sects fight against the butt sects? Might need a cream for that... 🤔
Yeah, I know, "har har". You'd think I was 12 and not 40. Saw you correcting the posts but you ain't getting out of "hive sex" jokes. Not with this crew. 😂
On an up note, you're probably going to be trending. And I enjoyed the write up. Good job. 😁
