This is my favorite Pokémon since Ruby.
I just caught my first shiny ever because of the ally mechanic.
My current team:
Dartrix
Growlithe
Eevee
Magnemite
Gyarados(shiny!)
Snorlax
I love them all. I'm waiting to find a sandshrew, though.

Using the SOS method. Some guy found out that the system that lets Pokémon call for help increases the chances of a shiny appearing. I was chaining for magikarp really early in the game to test the system out and a red Gyarados showed up.
