Trespasser Full In Depth Review and Comparison

The Trespasser Long Post How good is it in the crucible and how does it compare to the best legendary archetype of sidearm. First lets look at its rate of fire, shots to kill, and TTK - It has a fire rate of 450rpm or 150 Bursts per Minute (bpm) (with delay between bursts included) - A burst fire rate of 900rpm - A burst delay of 0.267s - Deals about 28 damage to the body and 38 to the head, This means it actauly has an above average headshot multiplier for a sidearm, at 1.33x instead of 1.25x - It takes 8 body shots to kill or 6 headshots (4 headshots plus 2 body at close range). - This means it will take 3 bursts to kill with only body shots or 2 bursts with headshots (Missing 1 shot will lose you the 2 burst) - Maximum TTK (if you get all body shots) is 0.867s and Minimum TTK (if you get enough headshots) is 0.534s The super burst created by the exotic perk will fire 6 shots instead of the regular 3 giving a possible TTK of 0.334s This weapon handles amazingly! The recoil is super low and exceptionally easy to control. Contrary to what the in game stat would lead you to believe the reload is actually a little below average for sidearms at 1.7s. The equip speed is just bellow average at 0.96s and 0.73s with Quickdraw. The range is better than almost any other sidearm which allows your shots to register consistently at even medium range and the damage drop to be minimal compared to other sidearms. The range fall-off will start around 6.6meters which is just further than warlock melee range (6m). The aim assist is slightly below average at 70 although this is not really noticeable. It is quite good on ammo and will spawn you each time with 2 mags worth, although if you want to go on long streaks you should pick up as much ammo as you can. So how well does it compare to another strong side arm like the Conviction II. The Conviction - Fires at 300rpm - Deals 45 damage to the body and 56 to the head - Takes 5 shots to kill with body shots and 4 with headshots (Minimum of 2 headshot needed combined with 2 body) - Has a maximum TTK of about 0.8s with body shots and minimum TTK of 0.6s - Reloads in about 1.5s - Equips in about 0.83s - Damage drop off starts at about 6m - The aim assist value is 89 The Trespasser has greater versatility and overall has more potential. Its greater headshot multiplier gives it a better headshot TTK. The burst fire and great range allows it to be highly effective outside of normal sidearm range. This makes the weapon great for, defending against rushing shotguners, dueling against primaries at close to mid range as well as making strong aggressive pushes. The Trespasser does have some drawbacks compared to the conviction though. The burst fire will punish missing and can be difficult in unpredictable scenarios. You must always have your crosshair on the enemy before firing, especially when using the super burst. This overall means you need to be aware of your surrounding, your situation, and always be on point. This makes the weapon better for 3v3 than 6v6, since 6v6 can get so hectic. The other side arms like the conviction will be much better in those unpredictable scenarios. With those you can start shooting your weapon once you see an enemy and then pull your aim in on them as well as continually shooting while you follow there movement. With the Trespasser you will have to predict were they may move and should only fire once your crosshair is well aligned with them. Overall the Trespasser is an awesome weapon and could definitely be considered the best sidearm in the game. It is most certainly a competitive weapon that requires a fairly high skill level to be used to its best ability. When it comes to its perks and what is best to use: I would recommend using the SureShot sight to get the best Aim Assist and handling and in the middle tree all are pretty good options; use hand loaded if you want range but don’t want to lose stability, use reinforced barrel if your ok with a little bit more recoil, and use quickdraw if you don’t plan on using it as much in the match and want to be able to switch to it quicker. My personal recommendation is hand loaded. So go ahead, pick this sweat beauty up and kick ass in the crucible! Have you used the Trespasser yet? Do you love it? How do you like to use it?
